We have all questioned certain people being benched and different rotations that don't put us at the best advantage to win games so far.

So my question is.....Do any of you think that with the high regard Stevens has for Rondo that possibly Rondo himself is calling the shots and inserting the players that he wants to work with upon his return???

Obviously not...

Though I do think they're taking the best looks at guys who theoretically would complement him best.  It happens that those are our best young players in Sully and KO most likely, and Bradley out of the guard crop.

And to me, it almost looks as if Wallace is trying to pick a fight with Green, daring him to do what would essentially result in putting Wallace to the bench: play his best on both ends consistently.  He's probably not good enough of a passer or off the dribble, but if Jeff Green played with Wallace's heart and then Rondo comes back, while Sully, Fav and KO have played and developed in NBA games for a couple of months, and I think we might look like we're headed in the right direction when we just miss the playoffs.

The veterans don't really need to play to affect their value; there is so much tape on them already, and/or they're mostly expiring contracts that we might let expire to make room under the tax for new impact guy next summer...replace Hump and Bogans with a good player using the $10M exemption or whatever.  Plus two 1sts.

A SG in there somewhere?  Probably.

Sorry, Bradley.  No starting-5 money for you!

Rondo not calling that shot, I don't think.

anyone think we're seeing Bradley Vs. Wallace for future 6th man?  Could/should we pay both?

I don't think so. If Stevens was deferring to Rondo I think you'd see Bradley at SG, so that he would slide right back into his role alongside Rondo.

Can we save some Rondo blame at least until his first game back?

I was only asking a question, in no way was I blaming Rondo. I was thinking that if Rondo was having any input it might answer questions about certain rotations.
please engage brain before typing.  some of you guys are way too sensitive and jump as soon as you think someone is threatening Rondo which was the farthest thing on my mind.
kudos to whoever wrote about if Jeff Green had Wallace's heart.  he would be a monster!!!

Don't take it personally when people start interpreting your idea in the wrong way when the premise is so far fetched.

Very few pros ever have had the ability to "call the shots" for a team over a coach. Bird, MJ, Kobe come to mind as obvious culprits at doing this but Rondo isn't in that league and Stevens isn't going to let a player run the team his first year as coach. If he did he would probably be laughed out of the locker room and fired fairly quickly by Ainge.

My guess is Rondo and Stevens talk on a consistent basis about how he would be doing things if he was in there as compared to how they were handled by whoever was playing the point but the rotations and substitution patterns are all Stevens.

I think that's what we all were thinking when this was posted. I don't think he's pulling any strings, I really just think Stevens is trying to see the best possible combos out there.

No way.

Very few NBA players have even been able to call the shots and Rondo is clearly not at the caliber to have that ability.

Those guys are very few & far between.
