questions

1) What does his next salary look like
2) Is he or can he be a bonafide go to guy
3) What kind of package could the Celtics offer to get him if the team is interested??

MLE money -- probably need to pay a little more to pry him away from Philly though. Maybe $7 million per year.

Nice would love to pair Turner with Rondo and Green

How about Bradley and one of our 1st rounders from the Nets or Clippers?

We can make a better estimation in a few weeks.  He's averaging 25pts in the first two games.

Why are people so enamoured with this guy?

He's simply just not that good IMO. No chance am I giving anything of value for him when you're going to have to pay him next year. Certainly not a 1st rounder. That's foolery

Never mind, I see Philly just decided not to give him an extension, not pick up an option.  As a restricted FA, it probably won't be worth signing him.  Any reasonable offer will be matched.

may i ask what it is exactly that forms the basis for this conclusion? i am not questioning you or your conclusion about him. this is a real and honest question to find out more about turner.

if you gave more information it would help the discussion in this thread i think.

thanks.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I think the new ownership there would give him up for a mid first round pick around the trade deadline. They don't seem interested in paying E.Turner what he'll command in the open market. I don't think he is in their long term plans.

Not wild about a backcourt of E.Turner and R.Rondo though. Limited long distance shooting. Jeff Green isn't a great shooter either at SF. Puts a lot of pressure on the bigs to provide jump-shooting. The rebounding potential of Rondo (PG) and E.Turner (SG) would be incredible though.
