That could be true and I remember those rumblings at the time. My choice would have been to increase TA's playing time lone way or another to keep him here.

Ray was alrady getting up there in years at the time...

Keeping TA made a lot of sense because he offered much of what didn't coming off the bench.

Ainge regretted letting Tony Allen go. I'd be very surprised if he let Bradley go for the same reasons.

You need the dirty work guys.
Championship teams need dirty work guys.  Lottery teams do not.  Anything more than 3 million a year is a waste of money on a guy like Bradley for this team.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

True, but you need shooters too.  I think Bradley is close to his ceiling but I hope I am wrong.

Whether you are currently a championship contending team or working to become one, everyone needs "dirty work guys."

If I remember correctly the contract dispute was more about the length than the cash amount with TA. He (or his agent) wanted four years, Ainge only offered three.

In terms of roster and salary flexibility to add the next big gun, not wise to commit a spot and money to Bradley when we're already stuck with Lee at $5M to do the same job, ideally:  backup 3rd guard.

the way AB's started the season, he'll regret not taking that offer.

We should stop overrating Avery and Green.  These guys aren't as good as people put them out to be (that was me as well)
