If you go back and watch the replay, Stevenson says "what?!" to Wade, then faces the crowd. Wade smiles, then starts raising his arms in the "why is no one doing anything" protest motion, then the rest of the Heat start working the official, who gives Stephenson the T.
Which isn't against the rules, or even particularly dirty -- if Rondo and the C's did it we'd all be applauding the 'heady' nature of the play -- but it was the wrong call.
