Fav has been a very HUGE surprise and I know it's only preseason, but I feel like Fav is going to put up some very solid numbers this season, I'm thinking something like 15/8.

I don't see him as a starter for the future (yet.), but def someone we should hold on to.

If someone on the bench averages something like 15/8 especially for a big man... expect him to win Sixth Man of the Year, and ROY.

I'm really excited about Fav and hope Stevens makes him our starting center but I definitely intend to temper my expectations. 

Fun fact, of the nearly 450 players in the NBA only 12 of them averaged 15/8 or better, so its highly unlikely that Fav will be averaging anywhere near that.  More than anything I just want to see him develop his competency on the court and show us that he belongs.  If we get a season of him developing and expanding his ability to protect the paint, get out in transition, and rebound, I'll consider this season a success in regards to Fav.

If he ends up with a 15/8 game I'd be incredibly stoked, let alone being able to average it.

i am surprised, but still holding judgement, as it has been preseason.  one thing i will say....he has to lose weight or turn that upper body flab into muscle mass.

I don't think you quite realize how difficult it is for a starter to average 15/8, let alone a bench player.

I like to compare him to Pekovic, who came to the NBA at the same age. In his first season Pek played less than 14 minutes per game (behind Darko) and averaged 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds. I would say that Faverani is a success if he averages the numbers suggested by PhoSita.

beat me to it. yes, asking 15/8 from someone with fav's skills and athleticism is really asking a heck of a lot.

if he can play 20 minutes and produce 8 and 4 i would be delighted. i think one of his main roles will be serving as a big body to basically bump and push under the basket, which is a good thing.

anything in terms of offense is a bonus in my mind.

Fav reminds me of one of my favorite underrated players in this league...Zaza Pachulia.  Big body, decent skills, but his real value is in his physical play.  Doesn't do anything spectacularly, and doesn't do anything really badly.  But what he does do is beat up on and instigate against the other team's big men. 

If Fav can have a career similar to Zaza's we should be very happy.

Fav is very talented player he has the tools to be starter in this league he just needs to adapt to the NBA pace and stay healthy.

I do think Fav is fully capable of averaging 15 ppg and 8 rpg along with 2 bpg. These will be per 36 stats though and the reality as stated above will be 8, 5 and 1 in 20 mpg. I think fouls will limit his minutes in any case for his first season.

The bigget thing I like about his game is his enthusiasm and effort, not his scoring.

He is a breathe of fresh air on this team,  we get to see a Center .....wow ...a center .......on the Celtics ......a big under 30 years old who can stay on the court and is not afraid to rebound.

He's been the most pleasant surprise of the pre-season.  Tempered expectations are wise as he'll be he's been playing against pre-season lineups and hasn't been really tested yet.  But what I've seen has been impressive. In addition to his physicality, he has been money when he gets the ball inside. Really seems polished offensively near the rim.  Can't wait to see how he and the others perform when it's for real.
