VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Not in the players or the coaching but in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

I watched the last preseason game on ESPN against the Nets and the opening camera shot was a small kid and his mom holding up a big sign in dedication to Paul and Kevin for there years in Boston.  the only problem was there was no Pierce and there was no Garnett because they didn't even have the decency to show up.  what a pair of oafs!!!
and please don't let me hear that they didn't want to be a distraction to the game or the other players because there was a large crowd for this preseason game mainly folks hoping for another look at thier one time heros.
they didn't even have to play, they just needed to show up.
I hope somehow, some way the first game between these teams in Boston, the Celtics kick Brooklyn's butt!!!!

Yeah, that was sort of my point....surprisingly there was still a big crowd at the Celtics game in spite of the world series.

Relax dude lol. NON issue here. They had announced as soon as the schedule was released that they weren't showing up for this game and I for one don't blame them. They wanted to save the standing O for regular season not pre-season. They definitely deserve that. I would have been VERY DISAPPOINTED had they showed up for a pre-season game! What they are gonna get and what they are gonna feel DESERVES to be in a regular season game!  ::)

I believe Pierce was pretty up front about this, saying several weeks ago that he wanted his return to Boston to be in the regular season.

Yup. This.

Its a preseason game. Non issue. Get over it. Would have done the same thing. Imagine being in Pierce's shoes, how hard and emotional its going to be to come back to the Garden. I wouldn't have entered the building during the preseason either.

How about taking their feelings into consideration. It wasn't like Pierce didn't state that he wasn't coming ahead of time. When he got traded he said that he was only coming in Jan because it was too many emotions for him to have to deal with more than once. A complete NON ISSUE.

Pierce and KG hopefully will get a full garden to give them ovations when they first come to Boston.

An empty Garden for a pre-season game isn't something that I wanted for either of them.

I feel like it was reported when the preseason schedule came out that it was almost certain they wouldn't make the trip.

This is the first time I've heard anyone even bring it up about them not being there.

same, Pierce had said numerous times, he won't play in Boston for the preseason. I don't blame him, the regular season visit will be very special for him. Besides, Pierce was in Boston that night, he just wasn't in the TD Garden area
