I know there is a similar thread on here but this is my take on the recent comments from James.

"James contends they also became hypocrites"

"I think the first thing I thought was, 'Wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston, and now these guys are leaving Boston.' I think it's OK; I didn't mind it," James said. "But there were a couple guys who basically [expletive] on Ray for leaving, and now they're leaving."

The reason Ray got killed Lebron Is because he left the green for the enemy and hands down the most talented team in the NBA.

I think Lebron wants a cakewalk to the Finals. And he knows Pierce and KG had his number in the past and he is scared that there is another super team assembled. Keep crying Lebron you would only have one ring if it wasn't for Ray.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Apparently he thinks agreeing to be traded for the betterment of the Celtics franchise is the same as bolting for the enemy for half as much money. Of course he is scared and if the Nets don't knock off the Heat this year, I hope somebody else does...my, how the Spurs blew it last year.

That is a silly comparison he is making.  I think there is a difference between MANAGEMENT offering you as much as they could, and twice as much as the other guys, and MANAGEMENT trading you away. Those are OPPOSITE from each other Lebron, not the same. Ray was in control of his own destiny, KK and PP were not.

Helluva ball player, just not very bright.

KG absolutely had a choice. That's the whole point of a no-trade clause.

Not that I disagree with the idea--This is probably the most top heavy the East has been since he joined up with the Heat.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
LeBron isn't scared of the Nets anymore than he was scared of the 2012 Celtics. He's climbed that mountain. Well, at least insofar as I can put myself into LeBron's mindset. The Bulls with a healthy Rose and the Pacers have to be forefront in his mind. Not that the Nets can't beat him and the Heat in a series, but just that, I doubt that's keeping him up at night.

I'm basing this 100% on him listing Paul Pierce as his one true rival. I do think LeBron is insecure , and for him to give Pierce that kind of credit leads me to believe he thinks that he's checked under the bed, and there are no Pierce monsters lurking anymore.

It's not an equivalent choice. Judas was a free agent, KG only had the right to veto trades. Pierce is getting traded no matter what, so KG's options are either to go with PP and JET, stay on a team that was gutted from underneath him, wait for another magic opportunity (spoilers: there wasn't one, since he couldn't be traded to the Clippers anymore), or retire.

I'll be unpopular for saying this, but:

I think Lebron knows full well the difference between Ray leaving and KG/Paul leaving. He's just needling those guys. It's Phil Jackson 101.

That's true, but even that constitutes a choice--especially compared to someone like The Truth.

Although you're right--there is very definitely a difference between waiving a no-trade clause and leaving in free agency.

So you're saying LeBron isn't scared of the Nets because he knows he has Wade to take out Joe Johnson or Williams after a play?

I'd say LeBron was probably scared as hell when our primary ball handler/best player actually had more than 1 arm.

On the other hand, I agree he's more concerned with the Pacers/Bulls, but only because he's had big trouble with them in the past and the Nets haven't done anything yet.  However, if they play like they should and Pierce/KG are healthy come playoff time, I don't think the media, Vegas odds, or even the refs that handed him 2 rings could help him sleep at night.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Question:  How scared is LeBron of the Rockets?

Elite defenders in Howard and Asik (sometimes at the same time) keeping the paint inoperable.  Elite defenders out on the perimeter in Ronnie Brewer and James Harden to throw at him for stretches (and keep Wade honest).  Neither Andersen or Bosh are strong enough to make Dwight uncomfortable, and their biggest weakness is still at PG where the Rockets have, at worst a serviceable scorer, and at best the #1 4th option in the league.

Warriors are another team that can limit LeBron with Iguodala while Lee destroys their lack of size in the paint and Curry destroys Cole/Chalmers.  Add in the Clippers and getting past the ECF might not be LeBron's biggest hurdle anymore.

It wasn't that they left it was that they killed Allen for leaving.  Lebron was sticking up for his teammate and needling his rivals on what he perceives to be hypocrisy.  Nothing more nothing less.

Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

what he perceives to be hypocrisy.

His perception as usual, doesn't apply to himself.

Of course, he is scared, these two have beat him often and forced him to move and betray his hometown.  Now they have a loaded team again and excellent supporting cast.  He knows he will have the refs but his team isn't as good on paper and he knows it.  Whether they beat them or not who knows.   PP and KG are older, and no one knows if they will gel as a team.

Take it from an ex bouncer.  Guys who run their mouth are scared.   Tough guys just do their thing.

By that logic, KG and Paul were the two most scared athletes on the planet.

I don't think he's scared at all, but he is competitive and knows there are some capable teams this year.  If the Nets are all healthy I think they may be the 2nd best team in the league.  Nets Heat would be a great series.
