What's up with Jeff Green???

The font shenaniganry is making my eyes bleed like Jeff Green on a bad day.

One more word about the font thing and then there will be no more.....I am 69 years old and for whatever reason I always liked the Comic Sans font. I was not aware I was breaking some kind of sacred protocol nor was I looking to stand out or be noticed. sometimes these forums are run like religious cults with all thier rules and regulations that you might be punished for.
I post on a freeboards site with over 12,000 posts where anything goes including caps, foul language and you name it so to be called out on a font issue is just....wait, I can't stop laughing yet!!! also....why is the font available???

You realize that a small, bold font is hard to read and somewhat irritating when used in a relatively large block of text, right?

Also, in case you wondered, caps and foul language don't go here, I'm afraid. It's in the posting rules.

In short, if you're going to format your posts so that they  irritate a large amount of the readers, expect backlash.

Lets wait for the season to start and we get a decent starting PG before we make a judgement on Green. Its obvious everyone is trying to figure out what their role is on offense, the lineup is constantly changing, as well as playing time.
For example, we know Pierce will get it going and be a major factor for the Nets. But looking at his preseason stats, Brooklyn fans who have never followed Pierce must be thinking what the OP is thinking about Jeff Green. Fortunately, we have plenty of history with Pierce to know that when the games count, he is going to bring it. Can we at least wait till mid November to make snap judgements about anybody on this team, including the coaches?

This one worries me a bit. It's been 5 games now, and no-one seems to have any idea what people's roles are. Bradley is the only player who has started every game -- somewhat paradoxically, because he's been god-awful. Bass and Green are likely starters, but from there on it's anyone's guess.

I agree with this. I've seen every preseason game so far and it's not clear at all what anyone's role is, not even Green and Bass imo.

And yes, somehow, Bradley has managed to regress from last year.

I think that a coach relying heavily on analytics needs  as much data as possible to determine his lineups and sub patterns. Its something that can only get better over the course of the season. But sooner or later, he will have to simply use the eye test, and put the most cohesive line up out there. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who starts the game, but who finishes it.

I gotta think that Green, Bradley and Wallace are the locks to start. In my opinion, they should start Humphries at C and Lee at the 2. Sully should be first off the bench. I'm okay with bringing KO on slowly, as long as he's logging significant minutes. He's a rookie, and we're really not pressed for time...

I agree with this. I've seen every preseason game so far and it's not clear at all what anyone's role is, not even Green and Bass imo.

And yes, somehow, Bradley has managed to regress from last year.

These terms are generally thrown around when discussing (and usually making excuses for) bad teams with bad players. Their role is to play well; they can't.

Jeff Green's body language tonight when he was off-ball was just atrocious tonight through the first 3 1/2 quarters. The only player more frustrating to watch was Jordan Crawford. I found myself rooting against him (Crawford) actively. He looked like he was just out there screwing around.

There was one possession where Crawford brought the ball up, and went left around the top of the key, Green turned while play was going on, looked at Avery Bradley, and shrugged. You could almost hear him say, "(Screw) it." And then he say there, kind of lazily, with his hands on his hips.

He had some good plays, but most of those were 'good' because of how pretty they looked. The alley-oop, a couple dunks..

Sullinger looked terrible tonight as well as often as he looked okay. His game isn't pretty by any means, but he looked like he wasn't engaged.

Olynyk and Faverani looked the best, but they did most of their damage against Tyler Hansbrough and Austin Daye.

Just overall, we looked like hot garbage.

Cmon guys, let's give JG at least a month into the real season before we go overboard on him, or anyone on our roster for that reason.

If Jeff Green continues to be too cool to rebound we are going to be pretty bad. I'd bench him as a matter of principal. Pressey and Brooks both outrebounded him. Chris Bab outrebounded him in 10 minutes (vs 30). Green is a basketball player where others need to do his job for him

To me, Olynyk and Faverani looked good because they were the only Celtics, along with Pressey who had a rudimentary idea of how to move the ball, move themselves, and make something happen. Not sure how much this had to do with Hansbrough and Daye.

Also, a spot near the top of the frustrating list is firmly reserved for Bradley, who still can't make a layup, but likewise keeps insisting to dribble himself into trouble. Talk about a player that has no idea how not to try to do too much.

This sounds familiar.  I swear, I've been hearing this exact sentiment for two plus years now.  And in a month, when he is still the same as he has been throughout his entire career, what will the excuse be then?

I want Green to succeed as much as the next guy, but let's face it, it ain't happening.
