Perk facing charges for allegedly punching a woman

Thunder center Kendrick Perkins is reportedly facing a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly punching a woman in July outside Nox, a nightclub in Houston, Tex

.

Miketta Cotton told police she and her brother were leaving the club when their car and another vehicle “backed into each other.” Cotton said she got out to talk with the male driver. She said a female passenger suddenly jumped out of the car, pulled her hair back and began taking off her jewelry like she was ready to fight.
Cotton said she calmed the woman down, but then Alpough got out of the car and pushed her stating, “That’s my cousin!”
When Ja’Keenan Cotton saw his sister being pushed, he got out of the car to check on her. He told police Perkins, a passenger in the other car, punched him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. Cotton said Perkins then punched her in the face with a closed fist, causing her to fall down.

It's a bit premature to cast harsh judgment.  If your hopes are met, and the story is not true, or greatly exaggerated (only heard one side), why are you already calling him an idiot?

Cuz he left his car during a fight outside of a nightclub. That's sports celebrity 101. Hell in 99% of the times it happens that's LIFE 101. If you're over 25 and getting into fights outside of nightclubs, you made a bad choice along the way you should've been old enough to avoid. That applies to literally everyone, everywhere. It applies triple for celebrities, and that's only because I don't know how to spell quadruple, quintuple, or sextuple. I don't even know what comes next. Septuple? Octuple? It applies all the tuples to celebrities and professional athletes.

Yeah that was my initial impressions as well, nobody is as reasonable as the complaining party seems to be here, and if you've ever seen a late-night altercation, a good amount of it doesn't really make sense. But none of that excuses Perkins exiting his car and getting involved, especially if he threw a punch or shove or two .

The fact that his 'closed hand punch' merely dropped the woman to the ground was the most suspect thing I saw. His scowl alone should've done that , if he threw a legit punch, forget about it. It sounds to me like he probably was more 'breaking it up' and ended up shoving the woman to the ground in the process (it makes the most sense to me , but honestly it's blind and worthless speculation). But still like I said...he had no place being in the middle of that.

This sounds way fishy. I mean, an NBA player - on a well respected team, at that - allegedly punches a female in the face. In public. With witnesses. And it takes 3 months to make it to the news?
