Celtics need another center...Brad Stevens is good with kids...according to Rotoworld:

"He was terrific in his 18.0 minutes of action in Orlando, averaging 12.0 points, 5.0 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.7 blocks on 66.7 percent shooting in three games. The Thunder are dangerously close to the luxury-tax threshold and have three other centers, which suggests that there's just no room for Orton. His impressive showing may have him latch on with another team."

Orton played center with Cousins at Kentucky and was drafted in the 1st round in 2010...according to NBA Draft Net his strengths are:

"An intriguing big with a next level body and an extremely long wingspan … He has a wide and developed frame and has the potential to add further mass … A deceptive athlete, he gets off the ground well and sneaks up on people thanks to his length … Physically, he has all the tools to be an inside force in the future … Off the catch, he powers his way to the hoop for strong finishes, he has the wide shoulders to clear space inside and convert against contact … Shows a fairly soft touch around the basket, he extends on his hook shot and is able to convert plays with finesse … Comfortable stepping out to midrange and knocking down spot up jumpers … His form is extremely smooth for a big, and he is able to get his shot off with good speed and rhythm … Has a lot of potential as a pick and roll big because of his ability to shoot the ball and set wide screens … Currently, most of his value is on the defensive end … He is able to keep defensive position because of his size, but more importantly he blocks and alters a high percentage of shots thanks to his timing and length."

I traveled from the Netherlands to Manchester, England to see OKC play against the 76'ers. And from all the players that played that night he was the one guy that was completely terrible!

I told my brother during the game that OKC should waive him and 2 days later he's gone. Coach Scott must have heard me talking!

He's Fab Melo with muscles...

Fab with muscles? You mean like Perkins?

The box score for that game shows Orton having the same box score stats as Adams, the starter...Pts 6, Reb 4, Ast 1, Stl 1, Blocks 2 -in 19 minutes off the bench.

He is a low risk - non guaranteed contract...probably less risk than half the 1st round draft picks we have in the future.

Surely, we can move one of our many SG or PF to make room. Faverani looks OK but honestly the Celtics could use another high potential center.

Stevens would of levitated if he had Orton on his Butler teams, and probably would of won a national championship.

If Red Auerbach seen this opportunity, he would be chomping on his cigar.

Wow. He's been in the league for quite a while but he's still just 23.

And holy smokes the dude looks like Russell Westbrook's twin.

I smell a ruse cooking. Perhaps Ainge could find the most incompetent GM in the league and persuade them that the 6'10 Westbrook lookalike we have is, in fact, Westbrook and steal their star player.

Sadly with the recent wave of GM replacements, I can't think of a GM who fits the bill...yet.

Perkins at least has some idea of what to do on the court

Id be way more excited about taking a chance on Daniel Orton than I ever was about Paddy O'Bryant

If it were that simple, it'd have been done already.  The team's going into the season with a serious logjam at the 2 and the 4 because they can't get any good deals yet.

I love it.  We've made an exact replica of Russell Westbrook, only this one is 6'10", 255.
