I don't think Brooklyn deals us Humph, Crash, Brooks, Bogans and a slew of picks if we don't send Pierce and KG their way.
I wasn't looking for that whole package, just GW and Hump with the though of the Nets willing to use Hump's expiring deal to unload GW while picking up (in theory) better assets in Green, Lee and Bass. Green would be seen by the Nets as a better player than GW with Lee and Bass adding solid depth to the roster.
just a thought I had when watching GW and Hump play the past 2 games and Green/Lee/Bass look like crap at the same time. GW, Hump and Vitor would have provided some really solid frontcourt depth if added to PP, KG, Sully and KO.
Oh gotcha. It's hard to say. It sounds like Brooklyn was looking for "star" talent to compete with the likes of Miami, the Knicks, etc. Therefore, I am not quite sure that they would've had much use for the likes of Jeff Green, Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass.
Hence, though they are in the latter stages of their career, Pierce and KG still have alot of name value AND they won't be asked to do as much in Brooklyn.
I think alot if it has to do as much with selling tickets as it does competing for an NBA title, and Pierce/KG equate to more ticket sales than Lee, Bass or Green.
Sadly, I am afraid Danny Ainge is finding that out right now (lol.)
