Let's hope Stevens does something different from Doc with Green at sg.
Of the top 20 lineups featuring Green, only 2 had a combination with Pierce, making Green play the functional sg:
Bradley-Pierce-Green-Bass-Wilcox (73 minutes, 3rd most common Green lineup)
Bradley-Pierce-Green-Bass-Garnett (37 minutes, 10th most common Green lineup)

I look up his stats on 82 games and former was one of the worst lineups featuring Green.
I suppose (hope) that Stevens will rely upon specific match ups to have Green be sg.
How many of those even exist though? Tony Allen? The league is packed with offensively talented SGs at the moment. Maybe he could stay with a few of the slower, more clever jump-shooting types like Evan Turner or James Harden, however a guy like Harden is smart enough to put his head down and attack every possession as soon as he sees Green on him.
Joe Johnson might have slowed down enough for Green to handle, but Pierce is probably an easier matchup for him. Then again, now that I think about it, Courtney Lee would be an infinitely safer choice for keeping Pierce's magic footwork out of the paint.
I guess it's simple enough to list the starting shooting guards and go from there:
Kobe, Wade, Harden, George, Joe Johnson, Turner, Oladipo, Beal, maybe Shumpert, Derozan, Klay Thompson, Dragic, Redick, Jimmy Butler, maybe Waiters, Danny Green, Gordon, Tony Allen, Sefolosha, Mayo, Lou Williams, maybe Kyle Korver, Wes Matthews, maybe Alec Burks, Gerald Henderson, maybe Billups or Stuckey or even rookkie Kentavious
Green should be able to cover the role players like Sefolosha, Green, Butler, Allen and Shumpert. He might have the most difficulty chasing guards who run around screens but there's only a few of them like Redick, Korver and Klay Thompson and his reach advantage will help.
All in all, I don't see many unguardable guys. The ones who are unguardable like Wade and Harden are unguardable by anyone, not just Green. He can cover smaller guards like Mayo, Beal, etc and even if he can't, they're going to struggle to guard him as well. In a league in which defensive wing role players have to be able to guard both positions, it's an interchangeable position.
