They showed the Nets training camp on NBAtv this morning.  It was mentioned that PP and KG did every drill and didn't take a break, therefore the rest of the team was sort of forced to put in good effort, to match the aging stars.  Kidd is going to have lots of help keeping intensity up this year...

If it's at all possible, I truly believe the Brooklyn Nets are being underrated this year. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are going to bring soooo much to that team, it's not even funny.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Absolutely. D will, Pierce, kg, lopez, insert any other player you want and its still a stacked starting team. Their bench is solid too. I think they're going to have a huge season, and although KG and pierce aren't wearing green, I'm glad they're in it together. I'm not a fan of the Brooklyn Nets but I would be happy seeing those two and D Williams getting a ring this year.

I think they are severly overrated.

People look at KG and Pierces boxscores and say how much they've deteriorated when theor minds are improving dramatically each year. Not having to do as much this year will make a world of difference.

They are going to be so good defensively and offensively.

Not only that, but the players next to them are stars in their own right.  Joe Johnson and Lopez would give each a run for his money, so to have them alongside and in their primes is going to be an incredibly potent lineup, especially if KG and Pierce force the other 3 to play up to their max ability and effort every night.

I think KG can taste another one.

I went to their training camp today (it as at Duke University, where I go to school) in full Celtic gear. Obviously they didn't let me in the gym proper, but I waited outside. When Paul and KG came out, they looked SO discouraged; Pierce was hobbling and have a half-hearted wave before collapsing in the back of a van while a trainer put ice on his knees, and KG just had his head down on his chest muttering to himself.

They came out separately from any of the Nets (in fact, none of them came out as a group, except, oddly, for Jason Terry and Andray Blatche). All of them looked like they had just lost a Game 7 or something. Heads down, out of it. I mean, maybe they just had a tough day of training - but their body language looked terrible, worse than I had ever seen the couple of times I went to training camps elsewhere (heck, when I lived in DC I went to a Wizards training camp and they came out all seeming tired but in good spirits. Funnily enough that was when Blatche was on the team so I've now seen him at more training camps than any other player, ha).

I really think the Nets are going to be a relative disappointment this season. Unless Deron Williams starts playing like he did in the Utah days, I think they are in trouble. I'm calling it right here, right now, they get the 4 or 5 seed and lose in the first round.

TP for representing!

They were clearly trying to set the pace for everyone else; but may have trouble doing that too much longer. Can see Blatche and KG getting into it if KG challenges him too much; but again KG will bring out the best in him eventually.

since when do players have the option to sit out a drill in practice ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

From the sounds of RyNye's account, it sounds like PP maybe should have....

BTW, I just read that Kidd was stopped for DUI and is not going to be on the bench (suspension) for the first two games of the season.  When I tried to post the link, I dropped it.  Sorry.  I think it was on Yahoo news.

So you believe the Nets are going to be a disappointment based off their body language after like day 3 of training camp?

Mmmkay.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Their defensive presence inside and their pure size in the playoffs will make them a monster.
KG and Lopez on the glass and on the defensive end?

AK47 and Terry off the bench..their 3 point shooting and size inside with Looez and KG will create so much space.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Deron Williams is such a **** BAG---I just don't see how he PP and KG can share the same court....Williams has ZERO respect for anyone but himself.

He averaged close to a 20 and 10 with Carlos Boozer.

I think they'll be fine. They're professionals.

I will say that D-Will has always seemed like a dude who expects to have success handed to him. Based on his body language and the like.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
