Brandon Bass on difference between Brad Stevens & Doc Rivers: "More attention to detail. That’s probably the main thing."

Baxter Holmes ‏@BaxterHolmes
Quote
Kris Humphries on Brad Stevens: "This is probably, coaching and stuff, the most detailed I’ve been coached."

And…Avery Bradley on Brad Stevens: "He really pays attention to detail...He wants us to do everything perfect."

Baxter Holmes ‏@BaxterHolmes
Quote
Jeff Green on Brad Stevens: "He’s just very smart, very precise. He’s a perfectionist."

I don't know if I'm more anxious to see the players play or Stevens coaching.

1 more week until preseason...I am pretty sure the first game is next Monday.

As for the details stuff, this is going to be interesting to watch.  Detailed coaches can be very successful in the NBA.  That is what has made Thibs so good.  But it also is a very delicate balance.  If you focus too much on that, you might get players tuning out.

From everything I have heard about Stevens, I think he can make it work.  But, it will be something really worth watching throughout the year.

Completely different team requires completely different coach.

Hopefully the 2 can grow together and become something special

I'm not getting my hopes up for the immediate future because I think we're gonna struggle regardless, but I've been very impressed with Stevens so far.

Being such a perfectionist can backfire if you're constantly berating players over it, but he seems to have the right temperament to pull off that approach too.

From what I've read about him it seems that he has a very calm demeanor.

Sweet. Will have to get league pass sorted soon.

Can't wait to finally see some ball being played again.

As for coach Stevens (still feels odd saying Stevens instead of Doc Rivers) it kind of feels like rooting for an entirely new franchise. Love it, because the past few years have been a bit ... melodramatic.

Fresh, new start with a promising coach and a young group of improving players. Such an opposite. Love it!

RONDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

Details are great but they can't make up for being physically overmatched or just not having the same level of talent. That could b the case for this team many times so yeah it will be interesting to see how this goes.

I may be totally wrong......something tells me Stevens is totally .....not.... Pitino

This perception at least gives me hope for this group of kids .

Also....... I don't think Stevens is intimidated by a new challenge

I 'm predicting ......he will succeed .

Details? Nice. Finally not a coach that says we work on defense when we work on offense
