This kid has a lot on his plate. His mom just passed and he has a baby due any day (he'll be a first time dad). Plus add the fact that he could possibly be a restricted free agent. This season may be very tough for him (putting basketball aside).

"He's going through a very difficult time," Ainge told CSNNE.com. "His mother passed away and they were very close and he's expecting a baby any day. He's got a lot going on."

Asked if Bradley might miss the start of training camp, Ainge said, "I don't know. We're just taking it day-by-day right now."

Good luck to Avery. :( Man nothing compares to what happened to him recently, but this kid has had it rough every offseason some way or another since joining the NBA.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...

If I was a millionaire I'd have a small village of children :P

Dwight Howard seems to be on a somewhat similar plan.

There goes that first full training camp, but anyways I wish AB the best.

give the kid a break - he's obviously going through a lot. Training camp is 2 weeks away - he will be fine

Maybe signing Telfair wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Looking like the Celts might need a little depth at the guard spot.

With what Avery has had to deal with, I wouldn't rush him back any sooner than I would Rondo.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

I'd rush him back.  It's hard to lose a parent, but I don't really see what the baby being born any day has to do with training camp in two weeks.

I'm guessing Ainge was saying it was day by day so he has time to grieve and refocus.

I know, right? This kid hasn't had a normal offseason since he started his career. Injury, lockout, injury, mother died. What's next year going to bring? World War 3, AB gets drafted?

whoa. that would be one suck-errific team. with a lineup that bad they may have to give the celtics two draft picks.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I know we all go through things, but was that comment really necessary? We go through things, but it's even tougher going through it with a huge magnifying glass placed on you. I just hope he has a good support system to help navigate him through these tough times.

We obviously are not privy to Avery Bradley's private life. But I wish the kid the very best and knowing he comes back as a better person and player.
