Found this interesting article which seemed to pique my interest on Celtics life.

Apparently we'll have the fifth pick, and grab Jabari Parker. I know this is supposed to be in College section of the forum so if mods do feel it needs to be moved, please move it then thanks. But the truth is I would be really happy.

If there's anyone I think can replace Pierce, I think it would be Jabari Parker. His playing style, his isolation style, and his high BBIQ really reminds me of a clone of Pierce, plus his offensive prowess and potential can only soar higher as his build is like Pierce/Melo's.

He also has Pierce's stepback, and moves fluidly. If he can just bulk up, and gain more to go moves, I could see him even being than Wiggins. Despite the hype around Wiggins, he doesn't have anything similar to what LBJ had. A high BBIQ, strong frame for his size, a better shooting form, and was able to pass the ball for open teammates.

I like Jeff Green, and I think he could be a superstar if he wasn't overshadowed by Pierce/Durant. But his confidence is too low, and his repertoire of moves are limited.

I think I could see us maybe getting the 11th pick, and sending over the Nets picks and some 1st round ones to move up in the draft.

What does anyone think?

"Forget for a second that [Ainge] and Parker are both Mormon and Ainge has been an informal adviser to Parker in the past. With a super-skilled frontcourt of Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk, and an athletic backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley, Parker fits great in between — especially for Celtics fans who aren’t sold on Jeff Green as the Celtics’ future."

Didn't read the article but I guess Ford has decided the Celtics amongst the bottom 5 teams in the league and possibly in the bottom 2 but won't win any lottery spot?

Honestly, I kind of think we might be there. If Rondo doesn't come back till December or even January, then we might be a 15-20 win team.

Wow!!  I'm surprised that Ford has Parker going fifth right now.  It seemed like he was everybody's consensus number two behind Wiggins just a couple of months ago.

One thing that I'll bank on is that these boards will keep changing dramatically between now and draft day.  Wiggins will probably stay at number one, though.  He'll be closely watched during his freshman year at college, that's for sure.

Who knows?  Maybe Wiggins will decide to stay in school for an extra year.

What do we do with Jeff Green if we somehow draft Parker?

Do we play him at the 4 or trade him? Personally, I like Parker (if he was as he is billed). Everyone needs someone who can put the ball on the hole, and he's said to have an NBA level ability to do so.

Green could be gone by then anyways.  It is something no one talks about, but if Green has a good first half of the year, he could be a major trade piece.  Particularly since he has an opt out after next season, Danny could look to sell high on him, depending on what he sees as the direction of the team.

I've mentioned this before we could optimize our talent and play Parker at the 2 at least to start off his career.  Pierce did the same thing with Eric Williams playing the 3.  Parker or even Wiggins for that matter could get overmatched physically starting off his career if he starts off at the 3 against the Lebron and Carmelo's of the world.  Also the few times we had Pierce and Green at the 2 and 3 I really liked that lineup, and the size at the wings would help if we are a little undersized at C and/or PF.

Goodness!   This seems so way too early to think about.

You might as well throw darts at the board from 40 feet when it comes to trying to predict who we might end up drafting next summer!

Just a bazillion things could happen between now and then.  Some of the kids may not even declare for the draft.    And for all we know, Danny could deal both our picks away in a trade before then.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

While it would be very cool to get Parker next year and to have all the attention he brings to this team (not that this epic franchise doesn't already get enough), its not going to make much of a difference until he is paired with two or three other superstars.

If this is true and we get the fifth pick next year? With our surplus of First Round Choices and young players in the next few years we can trade up for the Player we need!

I'd rather trade him and some dud for Randle

The conversations concerning questions about his draft stock do have some merit. Wiggins and Julius Randle both outclass him athletically and Dante Exum may actually end up being a better NBA scorer and facilitator.

I haven't read the mock, but I'd imagine Ford put Joel Embiid as the other player taken over him which would most likely look ridiculous in hindsight when Embiid is a finge starter and Parker is a top 10 player.

Honestly though I think Wiggins bolts for the NBA and Parker establishes himself as 2015's #1 pick. Although Jahleel Okafor will have something to say about that.

DraftExpress' latest mock draft has him going seventh.  I guess somebody's going to end up being wrong.

I could be wrong but I just dont see Parker playing th SG. Not that he doesnt have the skill, but I think he's just not going to be fast enough against other 2's.

Of course im basing this off of what I saw from videos, his large build and the fact that even some scouts think he's not that great of an athlete.

If anything he can be a 4, but not SG.
