Great choice! Istanbul seems "vague", at least in my opinion.

At least Tokyo will be more enjoyable! Have a deep passion for their culture  ;D

Now I wonder who would our Team USA roster for 2020 be? Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Kevin Durant? Hahah.

Wiggins is from Canada... I guess he'll play for his country  ;)

As for the chosen city, I guess Tokyo gave the biggest money to those CIO mobsters, as always.

i can`t believe you are seriously saying that olympic games go to the highest bid! The members of the committee are 100% honest and uncorruptable! Their only motive is the best for the event!  ;D ;D

On a serious note i really hope today they`ll make the right decision about wrestling.

In an effort to contain radiation, aspiring Olympic host Japan has adopted the idea to build a massive 1-mile ice wall around the Fukushima nuclear plant that has been spilling 300 tons of radioactive water into the ocean every day.

Years after the earthquake that damaged the plant, it has been officially disclosed that the groundwater in the area has been heavily contaminated.

The ice wall proposal was first floated in May, but it has now been confirmed that Japan will, in fact, go forward with it.

The idea is to build a series of pipes underground around the power plant that will carry coolant as cold as negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The frigid conditions would freeze the earth to about 100 feet below the surface, which should stop water from feeding the reactor and turbines of the nuclear plant while also preventing further contamination of the water supply.

The reason for the inspiration to contain the radiation may lend itself to cynicism, as Tokyo is vying for the much coveted role of host for the 2020 Summer Olympics. Japan is eager to demonstrate a face of safety for the Olympic board.

Tokyo's bid came in at $5 billion to $6 billion, compared to $19 billion pledged by Istanbul, said Ed Hula, editor and founder of aroundtherings.com, which covers the business and politics of the Olympic movement.

That's a lot of money to turn down.

The CIO's table has a lot of space underneath... billions and billions can be sent.

The Greek people can tell how many ways you can lose money in organizing the Olympics.

Given the radiation levels around Fukushima, there's a good chance a Godzilla monster shows up in 2020, though. I guess money isn't their only motivation... sorry for bad joke, I know radiation is a serious matter, but I can't understand how Japan of all countries isn't doing more to protect their people.
