Just curious if there are any STH'ers that visit this site and if so, whether you decided to renew

After much consideration, I decided not to simply because I can't justify spending thousands of dollars to likely see a losing team.

Just curious if others felt the same way OR not and decided to renew.

I renewed.

My father takes half my games these days and has an absolute blast at the games (I live in Chicago now) and I'm able to move the rest with friends or make an appearance or two when I'm home for holidays or whatever. So I've never had a real reason to let go of them.

Celtics games have always been a fun environment whether it was in the barren days or this past 6 year run.

I'm very interested in seeing what the prices are for NBA TV?

I heard you can add up to 6 teams.

Anyone bought them in the past?

If it's around 100 bucks a season, I don't mind buying one

3. Heat

I know 'vinnie' did the same thing you did.

We had a really great thread about this a few months ago.

I decided to renew.  The longer the tenure, the greater the discount on the tickets.  I pay $46/ticket whereas I believe a new sth would pay $53 for the same seats.  I also get to upgrade my seats before newer sths.

As long as I have a location that holds good value, I figure I can make my money back or come close to it while still being able to enjoy some games.

The fact that nbatickets.com exists also contributed to my decision to renew.  It is so much easier to sell tickets, and I am much more comfortable selling my tickets "officially" through ticketmaster/celtics than through stubhub or elsewhere.

Lastly, I am a diehard Celtics fan and would like to be a season ticket holder for life!  I enjoy going to games even when they aren't an elite team.  And when they are elite again, I'll definitely be glad that I held on to my tickets.

I renewed my seats for the 13-14' without blinking. This will be my third season having them, and I just turned 23. For me, I sell so many tickets to friends and family that I can afford to ride out the "rebuilding" years and still break even.

So far I have already pre-sold 1/5 of the upcoming season and we are a little less than 2 months away from tip.

Just because the team doesn't have KG and Pierce will not effect demand for my seats as much as the average person might think. You see, the HUGE demand on Celtics tickets has been gone since early 2011. The people who went to games last year to watch the Rondo less Celtics struggle to be mediocre with KG and Pierce will be the same people who come this year to watch Jeff Green and Rondo.

As someone mentioned, I did not renew for a few reasons. Our 2 seats were $240 per game and it was really getting too expensive. Second, my son, who attended most games with me is off to college and I simply would not enjoy the games as much without him. We have had the tickets for 13 years, since he was 6 year's old. It was a great experience and I will never forget being there for the championship clincher over the Lakers.

Finally, and this is the old fart in me coming out, I really am tired of the "NBA experience." I want to watch a game that does not have music and sound effects at massive decibels for the entire contest. I want to be able to talk to my son or others in the crowd during timeouts without having to yell at the top of my lungs. Why the NBA allows music and sound effects to be played during live game action continues to baffle me. It makes the sport seem bush league as it is the only (real) professional sport that allows it.

I will enjoy watching the games on TV. And, will find tickets to attend some of the bigger games this year. One thing I know -- I don't have that big hole in my wallet that I have had the last 13 years.  ;D

You can't include any teams that are local to where you live. So if you live around Boston, you can't include the Celtics.

ok, thank you for clearing that up...so there really is no point in getting a season pass then? I mean, I just wanted to get one just to watch the Celtics, the other 5 teams is just a plus. I have Comcast at home, but sometimes if I am over at a buddy's house or working late or even if I have to fight my parents for the TV, I can always watch it in the room...
