Chicago: Your decision to trade out of the top of the first round cost you a superstar in a league where superstars are needed to win championships. You have great depth and a bunch of playoff hardened players but not one single player that can be "that guy" when you need someone to be "that guy" in the playoffs. Do you think your decision to make that trade will cost you a shot at a title shot? I think the consensus might be that it did.

Well the guy I was targeting was CP3 and really he has never won a title so I didn't see the point of getting him and Howard had a down year and wouldn't help me in the voting. My only regret is getting Chandler over KG because this is CB Draft and KG is worshipped around here to the max. As for that guy, Nate, Smith, and Green could all be that guy from time to time..

Here's a few synergy stats for ya!

Okafor vs Horford

Okafor--0.81 PPP against /  0.88 PPP for / +0.07 overall
Horford--0.84 PPP against / 0.99 PPP for / +0.15 overall

Anderson vs Garnett

Anderson--0.90 PPP against / 1.01 PPP for / + 0.11 overall
Garnett--0.76 PPP against / 0.95 PPP for / + 0.19 overall

Not saying my guys are better (obviously not), but I don't see a huge difference, at least in the advanced stats, or enough to tilt the balance of power.

What are you talking about? The difference is HUGE between Anderson and KG, and understandably so. You should've just isolated it to just Okafor because I don't think anyone here is ready to headline the "Ryan Anderson is a good defender" club.

i havent read through the questions in the thread yet, and i apologize if this has been asked, but:

to all teams....what seed do you rank your team your conference (not division) and why do you rank them there?

i am voting, so along with your rosters and pressers, this is your opportunity to try and make a case to this voter.

thx

I would rank my team in the top 3 in my conference.  Superstars win in the NBA it is a long proven tradition.  As you can see I believe each of the finals teams this year had two players drafted in the first round.  I gave up alot to move back into the first round after drafting Durant to pick up Deron Williams who I actually had ranked as the 6th best player (and I know I will get burned at the stake for that comment but its true) so I am happy with the way things turned out.  I believe in building teams by filling in around stars with quality role players and thats what I did.  In the NBA I don't believe in deep teams of "second round talents" you wind up like the real life Denver Nuggets.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Yeah. I have no problem saying Okafor is a good defender. I'm a big Okafor fan myself. I'm not at all surprised that his defensive stats are on par with Horford's. His offensive numbers sure aren't though, and Ryno's nowhere near KG defensively. Not even debatable.

I think Garnett is going to have a fairly big drop-off next year. I am expecting him to average like 12ppg and 7rpg for the Brooklyn Nets.

Well sure, but at least by the "stats" the difference isn't HUGE (0.08 PPP net).  I'm also not seing where KG would expose Anderson.  He surely isn't beating him off the dribble anymore, and KG hasn't dominated in the post in years.

Also, Anderson's offensive game kind of limits KG man-to-man defensive "effect" (team defense too).  What is KG gonna do, cheat off Ryno?  Ryno will just make it rain from 3pt range, if so.

1. I need some kind of argument to support this, otherwise it's just an unbased wild statement. KG has never played a season with the minutes and B2B restriction he's going to have next year. For all we know, he could improve from last year because of this added rest.
2. Even if he does drop off, there isn't a shred of doubt in my mind that he'll still show up huge in the playoffs like he did last year.

I really hate to start a debate and run, and will gladly pick this up tomorrow, but I seriously need some sleep.  Been up since 11pm last night, and need to be up same time tonight.

I'm not even sure what argument you're making anymore. Are we talking about KG's defense, or his offense? If it comes to offense, and you have Ryno covering him, KG will continue to face up and drain midrange jumpers or operate in the PnR. Same as he has for years. That could certainly "expose" him.

If you're talking about KG's defense, then you're blank outta luck because Horford (with his quickness) would cover Ryno and KG would stay on Okafor.

Or, Horford plays Ryno and KG plays Okafor?
