It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Why did Woj's tweet say Memphis traded a non-guaranteed contract plus cash. I thought the cash went the other way?
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

The new CBA closed a loophole by banning teams from signing a player they traded who was then released by his new team until the player's contract would have expired or one year after the trade, whichever is earlier.

Best of luck to Fab, but I hope this shows people that DA made the right move. We are in a better position for trades for the entire year, because we no longer have to make one. At least we didn't give up on a number 5 pick like Thomas Robinson. Bill Simmons acted like the sky was falling because we gave up on Fab. I feel like there's much more potential in a guy like CI to become a legit role player than Fab. We cut our losses and should be happy we were able to nab Sully that same draft.

I wonder if he ends up with the Red Claws. I can't imagine any NBA teams signing him atm, so it's probably either the D-League or going home to Brazil.

1.  Fab needs playing time to develop.
2.  Celtics need to get under salary cap this year.
3.  Celtics pay Grizzlies more than Fab's salary to take the cap hit and waive Melo.
4.  Melo goes to D-league or abroad to gain experience.
5.  Celtics retain the option of bringing him back next year if he develops what he has learned with the team, while not paying luxury tax this year.
6.  There is a small risk of another team signing Melo, but this is unlikely considering that Melo is not ready.
7.  How great would it be if Melo replaces Faverani in Spain?  The first inter-league trade!

Fab Melo has played his last game in the NBA. Players chosen in the first round that get cut after a year in the league disappear. Why? because they are bad basketball players either in talent, in body, in mind, or in all of these things. With Fab Melo, it might be all three.

Woj sez:

Quote
Despite his shortcomings, Melo's size and shot-blocking potential could make him a worthwhile project for a team.

As one Eastern Conference executive said Friday, "It won't be us, but I think someone will [claim] him."
