another wasted talented. I wanted DA to draft him so bad that year. But as the season went by, I am kind of glad that we didn't. I am more than happy we got Sully out of it. Royce is a giant investment that needs a lot of patience and help. I don't know if he will stay in the NBA for long if this "no flight rule" continues
A team like Philadelphia (where he actually is) wouldn't be that bad as he can get to a number games within 10 hours (or so) without flying (i.e. close to Boston and the 2 NY teams and not terribly far from Cleveland, Washington, Atlanta, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Detroit, Toronto). Just needs to hire himself a driver to drive him all night after games while he sleeps.
but that is still a liability though. What about the other teams? Does he miss those? Also, theoretically, if Royce cracks their roster and becomes a nice role player...say if they make it to the finals in the future, can they rely on him?
I think once he gets comfortable he will start flying. He just needs to be comfortable, which might take longer than a team wants to wait, but I think he can get there if the team really works with him and makes the effort.
