Talks about how Rondo got injured a week before himself.
Then says around 2:25 in a somewhat cautious tone
"Hopefully he'll be back by December ".

Jared says 'hopefully', so I don't know much he's been told but I assume he's heard this from Rondo himself.

So if Rondo is out till then, are we a 20 win team? 25?
Top 3 pick here we come baby! If he takes longer than December to return do we finish last?

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

Fingers crossed.
imagine playing rondo, wiggins, and green at the same time. the athleticism is through the roof.  sure green and wiggins play the same spot, but it would be fun and interesting to see that transition play style.

anyways, why rush rondo? we're going to suck BAD. we almost lost to bad teams last year, and that was with pierce, kg, and all the glue guys. this year we're have a signficantly worse team, and all the bad teams in the east are much better.

Rather large assumption. My guess is when Ray Allen or Rondo were banged up at the end of seasons they weren't calling each other in the off season giving each other updates because, well, they weren't friends.

We don't know if Rondo and Sully are tight. We have no idea. And if they aren't friends, who knows if they talk or Rondo has given him any updates.

I wish about Wiggins but I don't know. I still think Philly is going to be worse than the Celtics.

well, that's why there is a lottery. The worst team often does not get the 1st pick. We just have to be in the bottom 5 overall.

My take is that Jared's guessing, just like everybody else.

Even if Rondo does miss the first month of the season (about 18 games),  I still think this team will have plenty of time to make a run for the playoffs.

I agree that there's no need to rush him back, though.  We'll see when he's ready.

I still stick with my prediction that this team will win at least 35 games next year.

I think it's a large assumption to think they wouldn't be in contact at some point regardless of whether theyre best buddies or not. Ray and Rondo had a dislike for each other which is whys it's a different scenario- Sully and Rondo have talked about rehabbing together-im not sure in what capacity but they've at least 'supported' each other on trying to get back to 100%. They'll be leaders on this young team and Sully will have info like this coming at him from a few corners inside the organization- they both see the same team doctor and cross paths at the training facility.
I'd put more stock in this than any journalists 'sources' or predictions.

Still complete and utter conjecture on your part.

I know I worked with people for years at jobs and never spoke with them out of work or had their phone numbers. I didn't have personal problems. I just never became friends enough with them to bother.

Sully is guessing. Danny Ainge has stated publicly that he expects Rondo back to start the season.

BTW, its illegal for doctors to discuss the medical conditions of other patients without permission from the patient.

Sully has already said that Green and Rondo have been two of his closest teammates due to all of them rehabbing from something major. That doesn't necessarily mean they're best friends or anything, but they certainly have a relationship beyond being co-workers who don't really bother with each other.

Furthermore, Ainge has gone back on his word so many times that you should know by now to never take what he has to say seriously. It's important to consider that Sullinger is saying this after KG/Pierce have expressed doubt about Rondo returning by the season opener.

Now, I'm not saying Rondo is or isn't going to return by opening day. I'm not even sure Rondo has a target date in mind right now. We can only wait and see. Your opinion is as much of a "complete and utter conjecture" as chambers'.

And it's not complete conjecture on your part? I'm saying this because Sullinger has stated he's been in contact with him and shares a bond with him because of their mutual injury status. Be it conjecture or simple logic, from reading quotes and watching interviews like this, and the fact that as a player he has an ear inside the organization that journalists and fans like us don't have.

ie:

Quote
* REHABBING WITH RONDO: Sullinger said he's found added motivation by watching point guard Rajon Rondo rehab from ACL surgery. "We talk off and on, just trying to get each other’s minds right. Situations like this, you go through it alone, it’s kinda tough. But when you have someone by your side that’s trying to get back to where they were as well, it really helps you out." As for how Rondo is doing: "Rondo's doing great," said Sullinger. "Right now he’s rehabbing, and doing what he’s supposed to."

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/tag/_/name/jared-sullinger

Because Danny Ainge stated Rondo will be back then we should believe it? I love Danny but this is the same guy that said the trade winds were quiet and they weren't expecting any moves in the near future. 24 hours later KG, Pierce and even Doc were all on the Clipper block.
You should know that any public statement by Ainge should be taken with a grain entire shaker of salt.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Never said my opinion was anything more than conjecture but I will still trust the head's of the franchise who is paying Rondo's salary public statements before players who don't pay his salary. And Ainge's past statements being accurate, which they sometimes are purposely misleading but most of the time not, is predicated on what he knows at any given time. Right now, based on what he knows, his stance is Rondo is expected back by season's start. Until I hear differently from him or Rondo himself, I'm going by that, not Sully's or Pierce's guesses.
