Deadline Day Auction  Special!Freaturing 3 and D 2guard with added size. He is locking down guards all over the league and knocking down the 3 at 44% overall and 52% from the corner. ...Do I hear a higher bid? Going once, twice, sold to the desperate playoff contender for an expiring contract and or a 2014 first rounder.

If he is doing that, then he is a bargain at 5M/year and there is no way we would trade him for an expiring or a late first.

Well, it depends on the direction of the team.  If they plan on reloading quickly, then I agree with you.  If they see a longer term reload...or are going to target a star in free agency, they would likely jump at the opportunity to unload Lee's contract and get an asset in return.

I really think Lee can be a good player, and would be valuable on a playoff team.  But, I am not sure he makes sense on this C's team, given their salary structure.

I am interested to see how this team plays the beginning of the season if Rondo is out.  I think we could see a lot of a Bradley/Lee backcourt, with a lot of pressing.

at this point, I just see Lee as a trading chip. With Rondo out probably until Dec., I can see him posting numbers like 10/4/2. Probably around the same numbers he posted last year.

I do like seeing Lee and Bradley on defense though. The pit bulls were awesome to watch

The Lee/Bradley starting back court is a must until Rondo returns. It could also create a nice blueprint for the Pressey kid to work his way into as a third guard. Not sure Brooks or Bogans will figure into that group. I dont think Brooks can play enough defense and I honestly dont know if Bogans is athletic enough.

The only problem I see is there is a lack of outside shooting so the front court better be prepared to run. Green and Sullinger trailing the play, shooting from 'up top' will be fun to watch IMO. Not so much if we are seeing Bass, Wallace and Humphries taking those shots.

I am thinking stevens might have a rotating door for the players.  If Rondo isn't ready Lee and Brooks will be fighting it out with the spot to start with Bradley.  Might be good to play the best tandem, have 2 good tandems instead of a stronger starter pair.
9, 4, 3 ?

Besides Rondo it is going to be an interesting year to see who ends up traded and getting the minutes at guard spots.
will brooks come into his own and be the steal of the trade?
will bradley show the all around game he had when starting for RA?
will lee play steady and give us the size on defense we need?

not sure how but i forgot to mention jordan crawford  ::)

actually, I don't think our outside shooting is as bad as people think. I believe Bradley is a good 3 point shooter especially from the corner. Maybe that also had to do with the fact that Rondo was making plays and not him. I hope Stevens acknowledges Bradley isn't a point guard and have him stay as a defensive specialist and spot up shooter. Watching him bring the ball up and pass is kind of atrocious. Lee isn't so bad a ball-handler too! He looks comfortable bringing up the ball and he is very quick on offense. Can't forget him crossing over the dinosaur. But then again, everyone blows by Bosh lol

So I think Lee is important for us and should start until Rondo comes back

Ideally if I were to trade him it would be for an expiring, and say a pick in another year (maybe protected) from preferably an older team such as SA, Dallas, or the Lakers desperate to make their aging stars happy.

Something like 2015 top 20 or top 14 protected, then each year slowly becoming unprotected.  Maybe by 2017 or 2018 it would become an unprotected pick.  That way we have a slight chance of a much higher reward with a draft pick, but just have to patient with it.

Zero, void, nothing.

Best-case Lee will likely give us 10 points per 36 minutes combined with defense that looks better than it actually is (just like he has his entire NBA career).

Marshon Brooks is IMHO a big step up offensively, and probably won't hurt us much more on defense given that Lee is already pretty mediocre in that regard.
