A couple links regarding guys who are either on the block or RUMORED to be on the block.

It's looking like Danny would love to find a taker for Wallace, Humph and Bass.

Then, there's Jimmer and maybe Varajeo, as Cleveland landing Bynum may have made him expendable.

Yes and in other news the sun is rumored to come up tomorrow.  :P

Not a shot at you gpap... but these articles are weak attempts at connecting the dots.

I think Ainge DOESN'T want to trade Wallace now b/c he can get more value for him in 4-5 months.

Varejo or Asik
Either would be ideal targets IMO
Jimmer too in a 6th man role

Humphries and a pick for Jimmer and Salmons
(Kings get a pick and cap relief)

Wallace and a pick for Varejo
(Kings get a quality sf starter and a pick)
Can't stop, Rondo!

Yeah.

Doesn't feel like a rumor. More like conjecture by guy behind a screen and a keyboard. Like Gainesville Celtic said Wallace will have value in the future as an expiring or, if we're lucky, as an actual player. And, like some have rightfully pointed out we'd be needlessly losing value by trading Wallace right now (at the very least we'd lose a first or at least a prospect).

If the Wallace+AB for Fradette from several weeks back were true, I'd personally hunt Ainge down. Who's with me?

One a separate but related note of crap journalism, I've been wondering if Steven A. Smith's 'rumor' was actually a tipping point for Doc's departure. These hacks can say anything they want without repercussions and I'd be interested to know if what they say affects the decisions of players/coaches/GMs. Which would suck.

But it's probably just a coincidence. They put out thousands of rumors per day and the one they get right they brag about it and magically forget the rest.

Ok Varajeo would be nice; but why would they take on those salaries. Only Humphries is expiring. Bynum made sense for Cleveland because they have Varajeo not instead of Varajeo.

So, I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want AV? I'm a fan of the guy but he's older and often very injured every year. I would have LOVED him last season and the 2 b4 it (without the injuries of course)! With him, we won't be realistically competing for a chip. What's the point? I know you're saying to yourself, you'd rather have him than Bass, Hump, and Wallace (I would too, previously)... but those guys are all pretty much relatively healthy except Wallace and he is still out there more than AV. You use the guys we have to get younger developing talent, not someone like AV. I mean, if you're going to take a chance on AV then why not just keep KG and PP, as old as there are they seem to grace the court much more than AV does.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Need to remember the Celts have no center right now and Andy would fill that position very adequately.

I like a lineup of Rondo/AB/Green/Sully/AV and that could definitely be a 40 win team. Plus, you clean up the power forward clutter we currently have (if I read one more suggestion of Humphries or Sully playing center, I am going to scream ;D)

In my opinion, signing Varajeo would be a win-win.

If he can stay healthy, he's an easy walking double-double.
If he can't stay healthy, Celts lose more games and grab the lotto next year. Isn't that what everyone wants?

I wouldn't trade either Humphries or a pick for Jimmer and Salmons, nevermind both.  Salmon's not going to help what's going on here and Jimmer's just another marginal SG to add to the current collection.

Wallace and a pick for AV would make sense if we were in a better position to contend.  I wouldn't pick up AV just to have a center.  We're not contending with him so there's not much point to adding a non-scoring center past his prime to a roster that's being filled with assets.

if the intent is to unload GW's deal and then flip AV for something better from a contender at the trading deadline, that I could understand.

This has to be a joke?  Why the heck would be want Jimmer and Salmon ever, nevermind while we are rebuilding?  Varejo I can understand to a degree, but frankly I don't really want him at this point either.

I would rather have Jimmer and Salmons than Kardashian by a long shot.

Kind of a misleading thread title, I think, since all we've got here is a list of players whose teams have been rumored to be at least open to trading.

There's not actually a rumor linking these names in any specific trade.

what is the point of a 40 win team though?
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I learned abosolutely nothing new in reading those articles. I think that Gerald Wallace, Bass, and Humphries are here in Boston to start the season and I think they will make an effort to be competitive.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
