Did you read the first sentence of the article:

"LeBron James is the undisputed king of Miami, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that he can order a police escort to beat traffic around the city."

Just the arrogance to even ask for something like this makes me sick.  The police were also 1000% wrong for bowing down to his humongous ego.

LeBron James made headlines earlier this week when he hinted at a run for head of the NBA’s players’ union. James said the union was “going backwards.” Jerry Stackhouse – an active participant in union activities – wasn’t pleased [CBS Sports - Ken Berger]:
Stackhouse, one of seven executive committee members elected at All-Star weekend in Houston this past February — when longtime executive director Billy Hunter was ousted — said James’ comments felt like a “kick in the stomach.”
“I don’t think he’s had any dialogue with anybody since the All-Star break, but it is what it is,” Stackhouse said. “To make that statement about where we are as a union right now, he was misinformed.”
James is one of many players who will not be attending the crucial meeting due to other offseason obligations. Since the executive committee sent a memo to the union membership about the timing of the meeting to elect a new president and discuss how Hunter’s successor will be chosen, numerous players have scheduled conflicting informal team workouts and won’t be able to attend.
“I would’ve liked [James] to come to the meeting next week and hear it and then voice his opinion,” Stackhouse said.

Just like WEEI said today, if he was so boss or like a "king" he'd have a helicopter take him anywhere in Miami anytime. A King rules from above so why not have that be the ride of choice.

Just to clarify, the department had nothing to do with it. It wasn't something that was planned and approved by the department. Also, "Miami PD" usually refers to the City of Miami police not Miami-Dade, a larger department which covers the vast majority of the county. In addition, the officers used for these events are paid by whoever is in charge of the event. In this case it would be Sun Life stadium. So technically speaking it's not costing tax payers a dime.

On Monday, Miami-Dade police said the officer who gave James and his fiancée the wrong-way escort into the stadium “violated departmental policies.”

An investigation has been launched.

In a news release on Monday, the department said:

“It has been brought to our attention that a video was posted on the Internet by LeBron James, a professional basketball player, where it shows him being escorted onto the property of Sun Life Stadium for a concert on Friday, August 16, 2013.

“Upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that Miami-Dade Police did facilitated Mr. James from one intersection to another in the adjacent area of the stadium. his was not a scheduled escort and although all safety precautions were taken, the department has identified these actions as violated department policies.”

The police officer involved was not identified. James could not be immediately reached for comment.

God this Miami roster is just filled with the most unbearable scum-at-the-bottom-of-the-barrel personalities.

I really liked Miami before "the decision".  They were probably my second favorite team after Boston, and Wade was one of my favorite players.  Now since the "decision" everybody who has gone there just turned in to a dispicable soul.

Watch for Greg Oden to suddenly transform his personality into a person half way between Dwight Howard and Demarcus Cousins wihtin the next 12 months.
