Spike Lee had a Live Chat on Youtube where he answered questions from his fans via twitter and the youtube comment sections. I was lucky enough to have all of my questions answered by him! I asked him about some very interesting topics including his opinions on Lebron James and the Miami Heat, Carmelo Anthony, The New York Knicks, etc! I was very surprised and happy that Spike was able to answer all of my questions! Please check out the video below and let me know your thoughts. Also curious to hear what Celtics fans opinions are on mr. spike lee

Spike Lee has fans?

I can't stand the guy and I think he's annoying and I agree with the other poster when they call him a hypocrite. And I think he should be thrown out of some of the Knicks games with the stuff he pulls. He's just one more reason to hate the Knicks.

1. hypocrite (1) A person who engages in the same behaviors he condemns others for. (2) A person who professes certain ideals, but fails to live up to them.

why we call him this?

Story I heard from a guy from Martha's Vineyard once...."I'm cutting the lawn at the golf course at like 6am and suddenly out of nowhere I hear 'QUIET DOWN THERE!'  I look all around, then I look up and it's Michael Jordan and Spike Lee yelling at me from the bedroom window".    Now what MJ and Spike were doing at 6am in Spike's bedroom I could not say.  But there you go

All you need to know is that Spike Lee once referred to Larry Legend as the most overrated player of all time...

well for me it's because he's openly criticized Clint Eastwood and Quentin Tarrantino about their portrayal of african americans in their films yet, yet there are MANY italian americans that have long been very angry about how spike protrays them in his films.

He's talked about trying to stop violence in communities across america, yet he retweets an address that he thought was George Zimmermans, and it turned out to be the wrong address.  Regardless of what you think of Zimmerman, the guy has a wife and I think kids as well.

....and the other reason, and this is just my opinion, hes talked about how he wants to stop racism in this country, yet he makes comments and remarks that come off as being very racist/hateful.

No offense intended, if you like Spike thats fine, I enjoy watching some of this movies, I just think he needs to stay out of the media

I agree. I think playing the race card is his way of just trying to seek and get attention.

I hate people like that.

Yeah, he's a pretty good/great filmmaker. I really like He Got Game as well.

That said, I mean, the guy's a Knicks fan... we're not exactly supposed to bend over and kiss his feat (as far as sports go), are we?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Kind of off topic, but based off of your last few posts are you a celtics fan? (It seems like you are a LeBron and Knicks fan.) If you are not a celtics fan it's fine, but your username is kind of misleading.

I think its great that Spike Lee is vocal and shares his opinions.  I think his criticisms of the portrayal of black folk are sometimes right on (Tyler Perry etc.) and sometimes IMO opinion misguided (Eastwood).

Is Spike a hypocrite?  Sometimes.  Is he obnoxious?  Usually.  Out of the crooked timber of humanity not a straight thing was ever made.  I'm glad he rocks the boat and makes people uncomfortable.

I love to hate him.

What fool mows the lawn at 6AM?  Is that SOP for golf courses?
