that's not bad, considering most people think he will miss half of the season if not until Jan.

Personally, I want Rondo to take as long as possible so that Green, Bradley and Sully can grow.

So that would be 15-20 games? Something like that.

Wouldn't surprise me, but what are they basing this on?

Unfortunately I hope we start off wretched and they slow down his progress. There really is no reason for him to come back soon. I'd say let him take the whole year off but I doubt being away from competitive basketball for ~20 months is a good idea. Plus he's a gamer and I'm sure wants to be out there.

But the truth is that there is no point to him suiting up for us this season. He isn't going to get any better IMO, and he can only hurt our lotto chances. Leave him out til around February, which would be a year out from injury. He'd miss half the season and we will probably have locked up a bottom 5 seed by then, probably to the tune of 9-32 or so.

I'm actually a fan of that...Rondo is our best player...in the mean time Green will step up as leader while others grow. It's like tanking, except, we really do suck lol

then we be in the top 10 - choose a good player and speed up the rebuild process...

a man can dream right?

I would guess that the younger players will develop more quickly with Rondo on the floor with them.  I want Bradley to get 30 mpg with zero of them as a PG.

What does it mean that "CSN" thinks this?  This is the official opinion of the network?  Is this a report by one of their reporters?  I am a little confused what this means.

I'd put more stock in this if it was coming from within the Celtics organization

the first month of the season we get hammered with a very heavy schedule -- almost 25% of our games for the season if I recall correctly--19 out of 82.

If this occurs, no Rondo for a quarter of our games means we are a confirmed bottom-feeder this season

Holding Rondo out the first month would make sense.

The team could struggle through that brutal stretch and then there would be less pressure to "tweak" the roster via trades if the team plays better than expected once Rondo is healthy.

Looking at the November schedule, I think this team could struggle to win more than 4-5 games even if Rondo does play.  If he doesn't play, they might not win more than 1-3.  A 2-17 start would pretty much guarantee a high lottery pick assuming the team wins, at best, 30-40% of their games the rest of the way.

I didn't find anything on csnne.com regarding this. I bet it was just an opinion of a talking head on one of their shows.

Seems like it was speculation by Sherrod that generated the rumor.

It's possible but I'm going with what Danny says until he says different... he said when the season starts. I want RR to play when healthy, if he is ready when it's game one, put him out there! I don't care about what people say is the usual timetable, no one is alike so you can't say if he's rushing or not based on what others did/do! Either way, I'll be glad when he's playing again!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
