No I dont believe that its going to happen.
According to a source, (Cant remember which  ;D) Humphries is a player that Ainge really likes, for some reason. I wouldnt be surprised if we ended up keeping him for a long term, if it isnt possible to trade him for something good.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is part of a smokescreen from Ainge to try and convince teams that Humphries won't be offered a buy-out if he isn't traded so that teams that want him will make a trade offer rather than waiting to see if he becomes available after the trade deadline.

Humphries most useful contribution to this team will be cutting salary for next season or being used in a sign and trade to bring in someone extremely good. For those reasons, this whole scenario seems fairly illogical.

Buying Humphries out if he is still on the roster after the trade deadline is in line with the goal of cutting salary for next season.

Humphries would be a nice player to have for $5million a year. If he is on the team after the trade deadline I would keep him in an attempt to resign him for a reasonable contract
