I was pulling for GO's return until now.  No more.

Personally, I think the rich got richer.  Impact, win  >:(

What's your opinion?

Why GOden? Why not Greg Oden or just Oden?

Oden taking his talents to South Beach = another reason to fuel the hate on the Heat.

But nothing will surpass the likes of Ray Allen taking his talents to South Beach last summer.

If he validates his decision, like Allen, and helps Miami 3-peat it'll retrospectively be seen as a smart decision. No matter how it pans out, Oden did what he thought was best for his career and I can't blame him for that.

Makes me sick that young NBA players are taking the easy way and trying to ride a title rather than trying to earn one.  Even if he gets re-injured and never plays a game, long as Miami wins a title he gets a ring.  It's disgusting that there are no NBA rules to stop teams from forming a monopoly.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I am not quite as disgusted as you, but I generally agree with your post. Really, Greg, you went to the Heat of all teams? Are we all supposed to think it is awesome that he is going to Miami? I really can't say I am hoping for the best for Oden, anymore. I am not going to pull for an injury, but hopefully he totally sucks!

I'm rooting for him.  Hopefully he turns into a superstar.  He can opt out after the season.  Let's dump some bad contracts with Rondo and make a play at Greg Oden in 2014.  He and Wiggins can be our future.  Lol

I hate the heat but I understand what he's doing. If he can't perform, he knows his career is done regardless of whatever team he signs on. If he performs even halfway decently, teams will be lining up with much bigger offers simply because he would have had such wide media coverage. Right now, I think its more about the Heats marketing strength rather than him "ring-chasing". If done right, he could have a career again.

I hope he infects Lebron, Wade and Allen with brittle bone.  ;D
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

I hope he does well, I wanted him in green back in 2007 and I don't hate the old man kid. But I want him to play decent while the Heat are eliminated in the first round by the 8th seeded team.

Then, LeBron takes his talents back to Cleveland where he can't win in the following 2 seasons, leading him to the Decision 2.0, probably going to Chicago to team up with Rose.
Oden opts out and comes to the Cs to form a fantastic frontcourt with Green and Sully/Olynyk. The Celtics are a contender again next season, and dominate the East, eliminating LeBron two years in a row while he's in Cleveland, and then again in Chicago. Rondo is 3 times Finals MVP.

All of a sudden, I wake up. Nice dream. I don't mind Oden, but I want the Heat to lose against anyone not called Lakers.

To confuse people who are wondering where the amnestied ex-Buck Drew Gooden will land.
