We're competing with Philly, Phoenix, Sacramento, Charlotte, Utah, and Orlando for worst record.

'06-'07 team with a healthy pierce is pretty comparable to this year's squad.

The '06-'07 squad that was on the floor most of the season was quite a bit worse than this year's team.

This year's team has to be better.

A stronger top-3 players (Giving credit to Rondo/Green for experience, Rondo as better able to improve the play of others), and pretty strong, experienced supporting cast (Bass, Lee, Wallace, Hump).

'07 Perkins wasn't the guy he became with KG.  Our PG committee wasn't very highly regarded, either.

I'm betting high on Sully/KO coming together in a couple of years, and making this group clearly better than the other group could have been if kept together (for whatever point such an assertion may have).

We're actually better this year.

This right here is a pretty key point to the whole thought experiment.

The 06-07 team had more talent by virtue of having Pierce in his prime and young Al Jefferson.

Of course, the main reason that team won so few games was injuries and then sitting guys out unnecessarily.

If this squad has anything close to the injury issues that '06-'07 team had, we're guaranteed to have an abysmal record.

Rondo + Green >= Pierce + Jefferson?

If Celtics make the playoffs this year, Brad Stevens should win the coach of the year
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I agree with you. What a beautiful start to another era it would be. The biggest thing for me is that the team can progress from year 1 to year 2 etc.

Perk/al vs sully/olynyk

Which one is better

No, in my opinion.

I don't think it's really even very close.

Probably Perk + Al, when you realize that back then neither of those guys had gotten major knee surgery yet.

Although the problem with both duos is they play the same positions.

I'd take Pierce over Rondo, easily.

I'd also take Jefferson over Green.

The rest of the parts are insignificant, nobody to write home about to be honest.

Doc was already a CotY winner, so he was significantly more proven than Stevens.

No question 2006-07 over this year's roster. And that's saying something because that team even if healthy wasn't a .500 team.

Basically your stating the 2013-2014 celts will be ultra bad. That they will be hanging around with the bobcats, magic, 76rs.  Imo dont think thats happening. Even though 2 aged superstars are gone, a good part of the system/engine is still left behind. Vs these other teams that havent tasted the playoffs, lost key guys etc.

Its similar to how bad the 2006-2007 celts team were(bobcats, kings of today). But talent wise and if given time to develop , maybe that team is better than this team moving forward.
