Terrance Williams, 6'6" tall, 235 lbs, fast, aggressive,STRONG DEFENDER, Wade and Lebron already don't like him..in just a few games he has shown a lot of strength and skills.....and he never got a chance to run with Rondo yet....Wade cannot cover Rondo with Twill out there.....it creates a lot of problems for the other teams....and he can shoot also......a LARGE upside to this guy...!!!

the TA option is not appropriate.  TA was a productive player that was let go because they didn't want to offer the third year or guarantee more PT for TA.

Williams was let go because he's got legal troubles right now as well as a lot of other guards on the roster.

marginal player + legal troubles + lots of players at the same position under contract = bye bye excess player

No thanks. I thought he was awful last season.

Mo Williams is available. Why don't the Celts go after him? We need another PG.

How about No!.   We don't need Mo or Terance, Pressey is our backup and will be fine.

Williams can't shoot he is a PG trapped in a SG body.   Bradley is a SG trapped in a PG body.   I think we would extended him if he was going to play here.   Great potential but something not quite right between the ears with Williams.

A career .41% shooter is not a good shooter.  Only .31% from 3P land.   I would not say he can shoot.  Most shooters can shoot FT and he is like .66% FT for his career.

I like his size his athletic ability but seriously he can't make two with a pencil and can't shoot.

Was thinking the same thing.  The option should be, let Williams go like Allan Ray (note the lack of a comma between the names).

Well, I could buy you glasses, but cannot make you see....he is better at the 2..and would be great with Rondo..you quote his shooting %....he hardly ever played last year......are you counting practice or what.....you say he was awful last season....LOL...you might have missed a lot of last season..because he only played in a few playoff games..or few minutes otherwise....the TA comparison is because of his defense and slashing....I wonder who I am teaching here sometimes.....he doesn't have legal troubles, he has a jealus ex who is mad she is in the past...called the cops...no charges were filed.....

Can we still get him? 16 contracts on the books, one unguaranteed, and we already waived him.

I'd like for it to happen, but it ain't gonna.

If anyone needs glasses tis you.   His FG% was best last year when he didn't play much he shot close to .50%  last year in the limited minutes.   His career FG% was .41% with shooting .50% last year.  Yet you are making excuses like last year was a bad year for him.  LOL.   I think we know who watches the games and understand the stat lines and it's not you.  Maybe try posting sober?

See, not a very good shooter if you bothered looking at the last post.  You did not.

We would have kept him if DA wanted him, he is water under the bridge and gone.   I liked him better than Crawford personally.   Some upside but he 4 years in the league and on his 4th team and teams just are not seeing something worth keeping.  If he has not improved by now, will he?

Quote
. If his shot isn't dropping and an athletic defender is keeping him from getting to the rim, his offensive game goes into the tank ... Also needs to improve his ability to drive in the lane with his off-hand as well as continuing to develop his ball-handling ... These will be particularly important if he wants to play the 2 at the next level ... Sometimes likes to go for the "highlight" reel play instead of just making the easy play, and seems too relaxed when he's out on the court ... Can fade in and out of games. Needs to develop a killer instinct at all times .

Yeah, I'm with the big man, Celtic4ever, on this one. Williams is a horrible shooter and played poorly last year. He had his shot and blew it. He's had a bunch of shots in the league and blown them all.

Besides, in what messed up Bizarro world does any team not pick up the option on a non-guaranteed veteran's minimum contract when they have 4 SGs under contract to then bring him back, on a vet minimum contract, 5 weeks later when the team now has 5 SGs under contract and the player is a SG?

That is just about the dumbest business decision an NBA GM could make!

Same guys who said Doc saw it all in PRACTICE I imagine.....even though I told them 100 times doc doesn't hold practice....good thing all the team and the Boston Herald backed me up on that....WHy do I like the guy...for what he did in the PLAYOFFS....better known as THE ONLY TIME THAT MATTERS....but...only players understand that...oh well....it always goes this way. Stats....tell little under doc and no playing time....and Doc got rid of TA....hmmmm...one of the best defenders at his size.....sounds familiar.....and lets see...for one more year...well it has been a few more than one....TA is still going strong...so who was wrong there.....So you have a few guards that proved to be no good....you live with them.....or waive them....you can be your own huckleberry.

Really Scal?!?!...You're gonna pull out the "Well I'm a player and players know" stuff?

Really?!?!

You haven't got a clue how far anyone on this site has gone playing ball. Maybe people just have a seriously different opinion on the guy and state the stats because the stats back up what they see and think and kind of disprove what you are saying.

TW is a pretty decent player and could be a very good backup PG.

But then there's Pressey, who does not have legal issues and is not a redemption case...

But there is definitely a team of NBA-rotation worthy role players who are not in the league every year.  Delonte might be one this year.  Williams might need to play a solid role for a couple of seasons on a good Euro team before the NBA calls.

I wonder if the irony here is just totally lost on the OP.

I mean, if you're going to pull the "players know" card in justifying your own evaluation of players, it's pretty hilarious to then in the same breath totally dismiss Doc as an evaluator of the same players.

As far as I know Doc has some experience around the game of basketball, particularly in terms of playing and coaching good defense.

But I guess that's just totally irrelevant?
