Me either, but they just moved Koufos. Committing this kind of salary to him is a big statement though. Probably makes JaVale a little ancy.

One of the alleged reasons they fired George Karl was that he didn't give JaVale big minutes.  Pretty sure their committed to the JaVale experiment - at least for this season.

Personally I think they should of let Mozgov walk/S&T him instead of trading Koufous as Koufous is younger.

Considering that he signed for less than the MLE, I don't think there was a huge market for Mosgov.  It's tough to pull of a sign-and-trade when no one wants to sign him to begin with.

I think thats a pretty reasonable amount of salary to give to a competent back up center with legit size.

The Nuggets were going to match an offer sheet for the full MLE, so it was generally pointless for a team to negotiate with Mozgov unless they could offer him enough money that Denver might not match.  If he were an unrestricted free agent, someone would have signed him by now.

The teams with the most use for him are probably the teams with the worst assets to trade for him.  The Spurs were supposedly a team that had interest but couldn't put together a suitable trade offer.
