A guy who has played in 82 games over a SIX YEAR career has teams lined up to sign him to the point where he needs time to think about which team will be lucky enough to get his services! This goes to show how big man starved this league is. Give me the old NBA any day where Centers ruled. The Parish's, Chamberlains, Malone's, Gilmore's, Olajuwan's, Ewings...REAL centers.  What a joke! Greg Oden to make his decision next week....ROFLOL!

Right? At some reason people need to be reclassified. I dated the hottest girl in the 6th grade - know what she looks like today? I wouldn't imagine the general consensus to be "pretty" or "hot."

I'd bet my house and puppy Oden will never have a full, productive season in the NBA. By general standards, he fell a ligament or two short of winning the genetic sweepstakes.

 I'll care about his decision when he's played a couple of seasons being really productive. Can he play more than 10 mins a game? can he play 70 games this next season?

if you had a chance to offer Oden an incentives laden, non-guaranteed contract, why on Earth wouldn't you?

worst that happens is similar to the Darko situation last year (gone with hardly a dent in Wyc's wallet)

best case is that he finally stays healthy and becomes a bigtime contributor (without the pressure of having to live up to being a #1 pick by us)

no risk, all upside, makes perfect sense to me

I lol'd at this...Greg Oden is a bust, and I get why teams want to take a risk at him because of his potential...but for the media to blow this up and making it like the decision 3.0 is quite comical

All well and good and to answer your question, of course I would take a flyer on him, however, that wasn't the point. The point was why the HUGE spectacle as if he's Dwight Howard or someone who is somewhat relevant. He has done NOTHING to garner this much attention other than mere speculation over what he "possibly" can do IF he stays healthy. He should be thrilled teams are willing to give him a shot. Even when he was healthy for that short period of time he had garnered the reputation of being lazy and not really caring too much for the sport anyway! Now all of a sudden he's has teams drooling all over him to the point where he can sit back and make them all wait on who he is going to grace with his presence. ALL HYPE is what he's been since he was at OU and he's not worth the attention he's getting at this point in his "career" from the media. That's my point.
