Anyone else thinking that game 1 will be Nets at Celtics?

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
123-85 at that point...

That game was absolutely ridiculous.  The Celtics saved their best game for last.  And it was great.

Early next season.

That would be fantastic.  I have a feeling we wont see it for a whole season.  I tend towards pessimism, so correcting for that I think we might see it in the middle of the season while playing a garbage team.

I wonder if they will show it when WE get blown out! :P

I think this team has a chance to catch fire in some games and can blow half the teams out. Hopefully they can do it at home, thats the real kicker if they do any kind of whooping only on the road.

But I will miss KG's reaction to Gino. Every time it came on it was like it was the first time he ever saw it. Loved how he enjoyed showing the new guys the glory of Gino for the first time.

I'll miss that the most I think.

I doubt it. They save those types of returns for sometime throughout the first half of the season. Like Ray coming back was in January. LeBron returning to Cleveland was mid December I believe.

I could see them maybe playing on Christmas Day, but more than likely it may be a random Thursday TNT game.

I would say Brooklyn at Miami to open the season seems like a good possibility.

Although that would end the Celtics streak of 5 consecutive years of opening the NBA season:

2008 vs Cleveland
2009 at Cleveland
2010 vs Miami
2011 at New York
2012 at Miami

Is that a record?

I guess so.

Nets vs Celtics on a Friday on ESPN for our opening night? I think so!

opening night is reserved for title contenders every year. we will not be in opening night. itll  be nets vs heat, and rockets vs OKC.

How long has Gino been a "thing"?  There's a part of me that so strongly associates it with KG that I wouldn't mind retiring Gino and coming up with something new.

Predates KG.

I want to see us blow out the Nets or Clips and watch how Pierce and KG react to Gino.

Being there for that Gino was one of the greatest moments in my life.

They will lay on a special Gino time for Kevin Garnett when the Nets come to town.

The C's opening night doesn't need to be the league's opening night--though I'm all for stretching those 82 games over as many days as possible.

What a great moment!! I ordered a Gino shirt that year and I think someone stole the package. If they weren't a Celtics fan they were probably wondering who the hell would wear a shirt like that.

I'll admit, I've had mixed feelings about Gino since we found that he suffered an early death.

So I'd be for bringing him back only in KG tribute and any wins over Brooklyn--or the Clips or Miami.

Time for a new tradition to begin with this generation.  Not sure, however, with what they could come up with.
