Fun?  That seems like a stretch.

Interesting? Sure, I'll be interested to see if any of our young players turn out to be anything other than minor role players.  I'm not very hopeful, however.

I suspect the defense will be better than the offense.  Are 35-win teams that play defense but are more likely to struggle on offense the type of teams that are fun to watch?

Wow good question. I think as Celtic fans we expect are teams to put in the extra effort, so if that is there than it will be fun to watch. If just one young guy blossoms than we will all be jumping up and down.  ;)

Yeah, I'd say so. It is hard to make a fun team when you have a talent like Rajon Rondo on your roster and give him 7-10 solid NBA players to work with.

I'm guessing you mean that it ISN'T hard.

Ha, yep. I'll change that.

I agree, although you need to find guys that can get out in transition and spread the floor, which isn't always easy.  Cheaper vets and young players tend to do one or the other.  Those that do both tend to be awful defenders.

In terms of the Celtics, with this group of players Danny Ainge has brought together, I think Rondo will turn them into an enjoyable team to follow.

Pity they don't have a defensive anchor though. That will be irritating. Having zero rim protection and limited post defense. Backup PG (Pressey?) might be annoying too. But the rest of the pieces can work well together (and with Rondo).

The defensive anchor bit is why I'm hoping the C's find a spot for Iverson.  It'd be fun to see him flattening opponents who come his way.

Not to take away from all the winning season that we luckily all grew a custom to since The Big Three era, but yea I think they will be fun to watch.  I remember Watching the C's with Rondo, Big Al, Gerald Green, Perk, Gomes, etc. and watching these kids grow even though they were losing.  It was fun to me.  Those years were responsible for all the anger when Perk was traded, or why you seen so many threads to bring Jefferson/G.Green back.  Fans grew attached to these young players and I see the same happening with KO, Brooks, Sully, Crawford (maybe), etc. You guys have to admit although they were painful years, they were fun.

its the Celtics,  I'm gonna watch win lose or draw every night , like I always have,  and buddy there was some pitiful lean times after Larry , Parrish , and that bunch.

I was a big Hornets fan during the Larry Johnson era.  Good players on that team .

Anxious to watch Sully , an Improved healthy AB , Green and KO work on court together .

Believe you could throw ASIK and Rondo in that lineup and they might be a playoff team ( not a contender though)

Excited about the young guys.

If the stands start wearing KO whigs I'll have a blast watching.

I may be in the minority, but last year, especially pre-Rondo injury and after their brief surge of wins and energy right after Rondo's injury, our Cs were PAINFUL for me to watch. They mailed in games far too many times. The losses to Detroit (2 or 3 times) the Bobcats and the Verajao-less Cavs were especially irksome.

Then the combined injuries of Rondo/Sully/Barbosa gave us NO HOPE.

Believe it or not, in a perverse sort of way, I enjoyed the '06-'07 season more than last year. There was HOPE that year with some of our young, developing players, and for the most part they played their asses off, unlike our Cs of '12-'13.

That's why I will enjoy this year more than last year....HOPE....

I think they'll be more fun to watch than they've been since the 08-09 season.  Every season after that they just mailed it in until the playoffs which made it aggravating and almost unpleasurable to watch.

looking forward to a team that will hopefully give it their best every night, regardless of the results

As long as you don't look at the scoreboard.

Well said. If this team plays their hearts out the fans, me included, will love them. Each win will be saviored. Each loss will be accepted as long as the team improves and plays as hard as they can

I think I will enjoy watching the kids grow up.  :)

I think we'll have more highlights, good AND bad plays.
But I love this team. I will be watching!
