As a consequence of this thread, I did some research comparing JORDAN Crawford (our player) with JAMAL Crawford (the Clipper).

WOW - Jordan Crawford is WAY worse, and it's not close. Maybe we could package him in a "maybe your GM is an idiot" package with Gerald Wallace.

Lol, I could've told you that without looking it up ;D
I like Jamaal Crawford. I remember with New York and Atlanta he was a sniper. I agree with the OP. He would be great to have because of his scoring.

Unfortunately, Captain Stern wouldn't approve.

The worst thing that we could do. Trade a first rounder for a me-first gunner who could help us maybe win 35 games instead of 32 games? How does this even remotely help us win the next title please? If you think this is a good trade or the direction we are going in, you are not paying attention at all.

This guy has always been a nightmare teammate until the last few years, when he's turned into a good scorer off the bench for a borderline contender. Maybe he could have been useful to us 2-3 years ago. Now, he's about the last guy you would want to add to this roster, especially if you have to give up a pick. We are hoarding those picks to help put together a title team. Not add Jamal Crawford to a lottery team. Awful idea. Truly terrible.

Dude, go away! You reply to me with the same nonsense every time and I am getting tired of reading it.

One problem with all this is that we can't make any kind of deal with thew Clippers for a year per the League Office.

You just called Jamaal Crawford a "sniper"? The same guy who is shooting 41% from the field for his career. Bah.

As for who's better:

Jamaal Crawford: 17.5 pts per 36 minutes on .415 career shooting percentage.

Jordan Crawford: 17.9 pts per 36 minutes on .402 career shooting.

So yes, they're pretty much the same player, for all practical purposes. Jamaal has just done it for longer.

Haha, sorry about that. Your ideas might just stink though!

Out of curiosity, I went back and read some of your old posts. I think we actually agree on a lot! However, expending assets to improve this team THIS YEAR is not part of the plan. There's no way for us to contend this year, so adding players to make us marginally better by sacrificing picks is not the direction we should be going. Ellis/Crawford/Dalembert... all guys that would have been useful bench guys for us 2-3 years ago, but don't do anything meaningful for us now. But I think Ellis and Crawford in particular are also terrible guys to have as your veteran leaders and top scorers. You don't want to take young impressionable guys and indoctrinate them to life in the NBA to overpaid gunners out to pad their own stats on a bad team.

Let's just say we went and traded Jordan Crawford, Brandon Bass and a future 1st to the Clippers for Jamal Crawford, would you be happy with the deal? Crawford is one of my favourite players in the league and this Celtics team needs a scorer.

I'll give you a TP just for saying that Crawford is one of your favorite players. That does take some level of courage to admit.

I guess it's better than if the post would've read:

The only thing I'll miss about Jordan Crawford is his crooked smile
