Well, there's Doc's outside shooting big man. I bet he plays 36 minutes a night while Jordan rides the bench.

Not to mention Mullens doesn't rebound well either.

Classic Doc double threat big. Can't score inside, won't rebound.

10.6 6.4 shooting 65% from the line last year. I guess you can see him coming in for roughly 18 mins a night to replace DJ.

He will actually be semi decent on that team in the right circumstance. Bring a large body away from the basket in a pick and roll setting for blake to go to work in the post or CP3 to get the basket. shot just over 30% from 3 last year nothing stellar but good for a big man. safer that DJ in the 4th quarter for free throws as well.

Seriously if DJ starts to shoot 65% plus from the line next year, thats going to be the difference maker. He was a liability in close games. but yeh not too bad a pick up for the clippers.

Offensively, I like him next to Blake Griffin.

Unfortunately, that's where my positive thoughts about him end.

Interesting, time to see if coaching and a great pg can turn him into something.

Well, I guess a team can't get all their personnel decisions right.

I just don't see how he's going to get minutes or how getting him minutes will benefit the Clippers.  He has a low basketball IQ and is a below-average shooter.  He's had some good games against the Celtics the past two seasons so Doc's seen him at his best.  I guess maybe Doc sees the upside in him.  His raw and advanced numbers are terrible.

I assume he's getting the minimum because the Clippers can't offer anything else.  In that case, I don't understand opting for Mullens over Antwan Jamison.  In the best case scenario, you don't go for either but if you absolutely need a stretch big who doesn't do much else, Jamison is far superior than Mullens.

It's hard to believe that once upon a time, Mullens was considered a top 5 high school player and even considered number 1 by Rivals.  His highlight video was filled with acrobatic dunks.  How did he become a poor man's Andrea Bargnani?

I just don't see how he's going to get minutes or how getting him minutes will benefit the Clippers.

Last season, the Clippers had Ronny Turiaf and Ryan Hollins backing up Deandre Jordan.  Is Mullens an upgrade if they use him primarily as a center?  If they use him as a center, it's not really a Mullens or Jamison issue for the Clippers.  It could be a question of bringing in Jamison vs bringing back Lamar Odom to back up Blake Griffin.
