I just don't see how he's going to get minutes or how getting him minutes will benefit the Clippers. He has a low basketball IQ and is a below-average shooter. He's had some good games against the Celtics the past two seasons so Doc's seen him at his best. I guess maybe Doc sees the upside in him. His raw and advanced numbers are terrible.
I assume he's getting the minimum because the Clippers can't offer anything else. In that case, I don't understand opting for Mullens over Antwan Jamison. In the best case scenario, you don't go for either but if you absolutely need a stretch big who doesn't do much else, Jamison is far superior than Mullens.
It's hard to believe that once upon a time, Mullens was considered a top 5 high school player and even considered number 1 by Rivals. His highlight video was filled with acrobatic dunks. How did he become a poor man's Andrea Bargnani?
