I came across this article and wonder if Denver could be a good trade partner?
http://hardwoodhoudini.com/2013/07/15/denver-nuggets-rajon-rondo-nba-trade-rumors/

It looks like Denver could be looking to start over (similarly to the Celts) as they hired a new coach and have already traded Koufos.

Plus, they also have a player coming off ACL surgery (expected in December)
http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_23463979/nuggets-danilo-gallinari-might-return-sooner-than-expected.

So, I wonder if both teams would match up and agree to this trade?
Celts get - Ty Lawson, Danillo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph, Timofey Mozgov
Denver gets - Rondo, Courtney Lee, Gerald Wallace and Fab Melo.

This gives the Celts a more balanced roster with a backcourt of Lawson, Bradley and Brooks. Green, Bogans and Galo are the SF's (Galo can score!) and we pick up 2 decent centers in Mozgov and Randolph ( I know Randolph is a natural PF, but they can shift him over to center.)

Denver gets a star player in Rondo who I think could form a new lob city with McGee and Faried along with a new coach in Brian Shaw.

New start for both teams.

Only caveat is it wouldn't become official til September 12 because of Crash.

Don't see Denver doing that without a couple first rounders going their way. I also do not see the logic in bringing in Gallo with Green here.

I know you're hellbent on dumping Rondo but this trade a bad one.

We're giving up 1 all-star PG, a starting-quality SF that's better than DG when both are playing well, a decent starting SG or very good 3rd guard off the bench and a scrub project big man.

we're getting back an average PG (starting quality but not near Rondo's level), a good SF (not as good as Wallace during his average years), a project PF that hasn't developed in his several years in the league and a center that is back-up quality at best.

Also, how does this balance out our roster?  we remove a SG in favor of yet another PF which is our most overloaded position.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
That article in your link was pretty crappy - Combining a TE with another player for Rondo? Also, we just got a $10 million TE, why is that soooo valuable to us, 'like a gift card' for a 'transcendent player' down the road...

Yeah, I can't wait to trade Rondo for a freakin' trade exception - which can't happen anyway. Please please please Danny, don't trade Rondo!

I didn't mention including any trade exception in the trade idea.

Well, the Celts certainly have a surplus of draft picks they can send Denver's way (maybe the 2015 clippers pick and 2016 nets pick.)

As for Gallo and Green, I think the two would compliment each other nicely. Not to mention,  you could also have them on the floor at the same time (one at SF and the other at PF.)

We should try and keep our star player and add players around him, not trying to find a way to get star players on other rosters.

The only player that I want from Nuggets is Faried, great energy and great hussle...
Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light… I just take pictures…

No they really are the same type of player. PFs that are not strong enough to guard PFs and are poor rebounders and good 3 point shooters so they play SF.

Having them is redundant and playing them together would continue to exacerbate the part of the game that this team struggles with the most, rebounding.

You never ever ever ever trade a potential "top 2 guy on a title team" without getting another one (or potentially other one) back. No way we do this.  Never trade a dollar for 4 quarters.

Danny might trade Rondo at some point, but he's going to be trying to get a guy like Drummond back. Not a bunch of "pretty good" players. Terrible terrible idea.

Didn't know you felt that strongly about Fab Melo.

This.

People saying Boston would be the team to say no? Denver says no in a heartbeat.

And did somebody actually say Gerald Wallace is better than Danillo Gallinari? Wow...
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Who else saw "Chicken Nuggets idea"? I can't seem to un-see it.

That would have been a good idea.
