Well have to say that Ainge seems to be making all the right moves under some tough circumstances. Adams is definitely a nice addition.

Question is if he will cave to the pressure to move Rondo as well or stick to his guns. Pistons have some nice assets with Monroe and Drumond and some servicable point guards in Bynum, Knight & Stuckey. Question is who would you rather build around.

Gar, Is that you--posting on a Ron Adams thread?

Ron Adams seems to like something about our situation to come over to the Celtics when all those teams, top teams in the league, were after him...

I think after the drama in Chicago, Adams was looking for a more harmonious front office-bench dynamic.  And it doesn't get much more harmonious than Ainge and Wyc backing Stevens with a 6-year deal.

Adams will likely have a lot more say in this situation as well - young coach, staff with little NBA experience.   If things go well it could be a nice springboard into head coaching.

Yep, good ownership and management plus the opportunity to be more important to the HC than on any other bench in the NBA.

For what it's worth, Scal was on Toucher & Rich this morning and said that the Ron Adams hiring was the absolute best possible move the Celtics could make in terms of putting the right complimentary coach next to Brad Stevens.

Scal seemed to be genuinely enamoured with the man and thinks he will make an immediate and large impact on Stevens' growth.

Yup, if Olynyk turns into an average defender to go along with his offensive game I will be pretty happy.

sounds like  Thibbs is not getting along with the Bulls GM

Bulls lose him and they sink like a rock.

the more i see of ainge's rebuild the more i am impressed by him. no one knows for sure if everything will work out or not. no one on any team knows for sure what will happen 3-4 years the road.

but ainge has done an outstanding job of getting the most out of the old team so as to build a new and better team. he also knows that such a rebuild involves young players, and these young players need to learn how to play basketball, not just be athletes.

steves and adams will teach this team how to get the most out of their abilities and play as a team. fabulous!

this helps the celtics both by making a better team and by making some players into better assets.

thank you danny.

I'm hoping that the Bulls implode and someone like Joakim Noah becomes available because Chicago is dumping salary and rebuilding.
