Good signing for them--I can see them running Chandler, Melo, Artest, Shumpert and Felton with Artest taking the better 3/4 to save 'Melo for offense, similar to the way the Heat used Shane Battier in the regular season.

Knicks should be a tough team next season but they have 3 knuckleheads on there (Melo, JR Smith and MWP} so it be a tough job to get that team play together
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

So much for having no interest in the NBA this season, lol.

The Pierce-Artest matchup will add a nice running subplot to Knicks-Nets games next season.

That team needs a level headed veteran presence who can be vocal and everyone would respect.

Like they had with Kidd last year, like Detroit just got with Billups.

Knicks look like they're sorely lacking that to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

They wouldn't be the Knicks if they weren't 30 seconds away from flaming out spectacularly.

The Knicks should rename themselves to the Knucks.

Well, they've got Carmelo and JR Smith, just added MWP, and have the possibility of retaining Kenyon Martin, should they so chose. It doesn't get much better than this in the knucklehead department.

Except teams won't have any qualms about hiding their weakest wing defender on Artest. So it'll won't generate the same level of mismatches that last years Novak lineups or what the Heat did with Battier/Miller.

Artest is not a world beater, but he somehow always manages those ridiculous games in which he makes you pay for not taking him seriously -- and these seem to come exactly when the team needs them.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
So much for Wallace/Humphries for Amar'e...we are going to have to figure out some more creative trades for our new fan faves...
