@GoodmanESPN: Former Missouri point guard Phil Pressey and Boston Celtics working on a one-year deal, sources told ESPN.

I'm guessing Shav is gone

They still need to clear a few roster spots , Any chance they buy out Humpheries ?

don't they have until the begining of the season to sort out the roster?, think roster limits only apply then

Morey style? I think you quite forget how Ainge has signed rookies in the past. Heck, even recently.

Can he be traded if he signs?  Perhaps he is part of a bigger deal?

I want him to sign 2nd rounders and rookie fa to muilti year deals with team options, last time we signed some good on a rookie deal (steamer) he failed to get us at least a team option on the 2nd year. We lost him for nothing

Considering he outplayed most second round picks and many first round picks why not?  He was our second best player.  Besides he can always be salary to match.  I am not sure if he can be signed and traded immediately though.

They like Pressey. Brought him in for at least two looks. He is the perfect fit for us this year.

Last year showed us how badly we need a competent backup point. This kid can pass and score, plays good man D and is learning  (will be learning) to take care of the ball better and not get caught in the air with no where to go so often.

They got him to cultivate and keep.

Completely different circumstances, financial situation, and roster situation.

As mentioned, you're ignoring how Ainge has signed rookies in the past... so this is not a "Morey" thing. Let's see how Morey does it later on, when he needs to attract mid-level talent to surround Dwight Howard and still have some left over to use on his second rounders or un-drafted players.

Presseys impact on the game is beyond stats like Olynyk.

He is on the court the defense gets better, the offense runs better and we basically become a plus team.

We got really lucky. When he had decent players in college around him, his stats were better, especially his scoring. If he left school there was a high chance he got drafted late 1st/early 2nd i read on one draft article. But he decided to stay and so did some of the decent players. So he tried to carry his team in scoring and thats where his game kind of went down, espcially scoring efficiency.  Pressey is going to be a nice backup pickup. Eventually he has a chance to be a starter, i really believe it. He and Olynyk play well together on the court.

great news
and think about some of the stuff he can learn from Rondo
oh and his defense isn't bad either.

I hope we can get this roster sorted out quickly.

All I can say is it is amazing how 4 summer league games involving mostly scrubs  can have people making career predictions about players. Wish I had a list of all the past summer league stars and where they are now -- hello, Dionte Christmas.
