I noticed on the Celtics web site they have a 2013-14 Season Tickets on sale now, with a picture of Rondo. The BUY button is right over Rondo's shoulder.  I know it probably means nothing, but does show that Rondo is now the face of the franchise and if you buy season tickets you get to watch Rondo.  I think we keep Rondo.  Maybe if he comes back and shows he has not lost anything from he injury that might reconsider but for now I think Rondo stays a Celtic.

I think trading rondo comes down to 2014 free agency, if we dont land anyone there' then i think Rondo's done as Celtic and the only reason he' hasnt been moved this offseason is most likely because ainge believes that letting Rondo back on the court will raise his trade value rather than trading him when he's injured amid tons of negative press about his personality.

I dont think Rondo' or the Celtics name is enough to draw in meaningfull talent in 2014 so i think its a matter of time before rondo walks out that door.

I think DA is trying to do a quick turn around here, so no I don't think we will trade him. Unless of course DA gets a great offer.

I think Detroit is the only team likely to offer fair value back right now.

So they probably expect Rondo will still be there at the deadline, with his presumed return to health and form confirmed, if they don't cough up the fair value (Monroe or Drummond) now.

Thus, they've no incentive not to also take a half season to first find out how their Drummond/Monroe/Smith 5/4/3 lineup looks.

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!! Why would we EVER trade RR, it literally blows my mind. He's a top 5 PG in the league and arguably IMO the best. He makes others better, he maximizes talent, as does our NEW coach. So why not keep them together for awhile and see what happens.

This. It is a sobering reality that Wyc still needs to sell tickets, no matter how bad the team is. They can market Rondo but there's no one else on the team who can be the 'face'. Jeff Green maybe in a few years.

There is no way anyone is going to give you a fair price for Rondo until they are totally sure he is totally back. His entire game is based upon quickness and speed and it may be 18 months before he is on the absolute top of his game. (it normally takes a year in recovery and then at least another 6 months to be at your best). Look at everyone else who had a similar injury. It simply takes a while. Anyone who makes an offer is going to low ball you. The new economy in the NBA makes risk really bad. Look at some of Mark Cuban's comments of how he used to be able to buy his way out of a mistake but the luxury tax makes that strategy obsolete. Only the New York teams are going to take a big risk and they are already waaaaay over the luxury cap.

No, I do not think he is going to be traded.   He is still young and you can keep pieces to build around.  PP and KG were too old to rebuild around JG and RR are not.  You still need a top alpha dog type with those two but they are complimentary guys.

Rondo is a top 10 player. I would love to see how he works under a smart coach with free reign. Not having Pierce will free him up.

Anyone can be traded. Kareem was traded, Shaq was traded. The question is what value are you getting in return? If you think it improves the team, sure you can trade Rondo. At this point, coming off injury, you're probably going to get junk offers.

So hold onto him, let him rehab next year. We will be horrific next season so they will need him to sell some tickets with his "imminent return".

I personally don't we will see any big moves until we see how the lottery and free agency and trades go in the summer of 2014. If we totally strike out, it may be trade Rondo time, but in the interim, it's best to just sit back, develop the youngsters, and hit the lottery..

Rondo will, in all likelihood, be traded at some point.  Hopefully that some point is in his mid-thirties.

personally i would only trade rondo for wall(even though rondo's a much better pg than jw).

a trade like
rondo+bass --> j.wall+nene should work i think.

altough not sure if washington will accept it. ::)
