I like hearing this kind of stuff. I was only an Austin Rivers fan for the lineage but since he played for Duke I've chosen to still follow him. And I've relocated from New England to the Gulf Coast so the Pelicans are now my closest team...yeah, I know.

with the Pelicans landing Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holliday, and hopefully a healthy Eric Gordon coming back, I still don't see much playing time this year for Rivers

Not to mention Anthony Morrow.  Highly likely Gordon is getting traded.  Possibly to Charlotte for MKG and change.

I am excited to see what improvements Austin Rivers can make next season.

I expected him to struggle during his rookie year but I do think he has good potential as a scoring guard. Good to hear he is off to a good start in summer league. Definitely be checking some of his games out next year to see how he is doing.

I just worry that he'll flounder with the minutes crunch in the backcourt.

I don't think A.Rivers needs big minutes yet. I think he'll be fine with 10-15mpg next year. It'll be the year after where a lack of playing may become more problematic. He'll (hopefully) need longer minutes by then.

I think New Orleans will lineup as

PG - J.Holiday, A.Rivers
SG - E.Gordon, A.Morrow
SF - T.Evans, A.Aminu

I think Austin Rivers should have a fine 12-15mpg as backup PG.
