Not impressed with the moves Dallas is making.  No way they even reach the WCF with those pieces.

Do they even reach the playoffs? Dirk is good, but he is slowing down and there is nobody else on the roster that is a real difference maker. They basically just replaced Mayo with Monta...

Obviously they're not done, but you're right, I wouldn't be surprised if they miss the playoffs - especially with the West the way it stands.  But their goal clearly is to make another run at a championship while Dirk is still able to play at a high level.  They ain't gonna be able to do that with the roster they're assembling.

I think they are not looking for a deep Playoff run this year. They know they cant and i think i remember Cuban talking about a 2-year-plan. Dirk&Marrions contracts will both expire and Dirk allready said he will take a big Paycut and I can see Marion doing the same thing. Imagine both of them resign for 15mil instead of the 30+ they pay them now. They set the backcourt this year and with the additional money, they can pimp the frontcourt next year. Having something like

Ellis(10) / Dirk (11) Calderon (7) / Marrion (4) / Harris (3) Maybe Dalembert (6) isn´t to bad of a start isn´t it?

Devin Harris needs surgery and sounds like he'll be on the shelf till possibly the start of the regular season. Sounds like this might have derailed his deal with Dallas.

I'll be shocked if Dallas wins more games than the Celtics this year.  But I guess free agency isn't done so I could change my mind...

dallas is done. dirk is breaking down and has no supporting cast whatsoever. now they have a ballchucker on their squad.

this move to get ellis was simply to please the season ticket holders.  bad move for the future and for now.

Dallas is still a great team. Last year Dirk missed 30 games during RS. Tell me how HEAT can play if lebron will miss 30 games?

Just my prediction here but I bet Monta Ellis' unselfishness and good shot selection win over the Mavs fans right away and he becomes a crowd favorite.
