What do you guys think? Here's what I think.

I speculate that Ainge, the ownership and KG & Pierce all had some pretty long heart to heart talks after the season ended.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the conversation was something like this.

Ainge:
"Guys, we can keep you here and let you retire but the honest truth is that given our cap situation, and other factors, we don't feel we can build a true contender around you guys at this point and we simply also "have" to rebuild at some point. You could be part of that rebuilding or if possible we can try to find a spot for both of you together with another team where you have a legit opportunity to chase a title for the next few seasons before you retire? What do you want to do, what do you think...?

KG & Pierce: What teams?

Ainge:   Well, New Jersey is showing interest - we'd take back some salary but we'd also get three firsts and it would help our rebuild.

KG:  So you mean I'd actually have a legit center playing next to me for once?

Pierce: So I'd have  another great point guard to play with who can shoot and another very solid wing guy who can actually carry a little bit of the scoring load?

Ainge: Yes

KG & Pierce, in unison:   Where do we sign and when is the first game against Miami?

I'd be willing to bet that both KG and Pierce are actually thrilled with this trade. The main reason is that in a matter of a week they have been thrown into a situation that gives them a far better chance of competing for a title during their last few years than if they had stayed in Boston.

What more could two true hardwood warriors ask for at the end of their career?

Also, I believe that Brooklyn team, if it stays healthy, is going to the NBA finals. I think they crap all over Miami.

That is going to be a big, bruising team that can:

1. Play big: Lopez / KG or KG / Blatche
KG / Evans / Kireilenko / Pierce

2. Play fast: KG / Kirilenko / Pierce

I think it's just going to be a bruising team with all kinds of attitude and toughness. Would not watn to play them.

And I think there some folks in Miami raising some eyebrows right now.

Can't wait to root for KG and Pierce in Jersey, see them come come back to bean town for a hero's welcome and watch them stick it to Miami and go to the finals this year.

I couldn't be happier for those two players - and I bet they feel the same.

Really? Interesting. Miami doesn't exist for me but Jersey is very alive.

I cannot wait to root for KG and Pierce in Jersey Uniforms. I've always wished they could get one more title before they cash out and I think this gives them the best possible chance to do that. How sweet would that be if they raised a title with two different teams - that's a pretty cool legacy and would be a real testament to their talent.

They are called the Brooklyn Nets.   Because that's where the team is.

Oh, I see. So from the entire post the only comment is a snide remark correcting the OP on the location of the city.

When everyone and their mother knows when I mistakenly said Jersey I was obviously referring to the "Brooklyn Nets".

I appreciate the geography lesson but seriously if that's all you had to say why even post a reply?

You could always just graciously change the post title and acknowledge making a simple substitution error. (like me calling one of my dogs the others name)

Or you could go full out and try to start a flame war about it.

If it helps, I thought that the OP was talking about the new shirts when I first clicked on the link.

They get to play with a better point guard, better shooting guard, better center and better bench.  What's not to like ?

Well, I'm not too particularly fond of most New Yorkers. There's that.

Whatever, forget the post - not worth it.

Happy to see KG and pierce in Brooklyn uniforms, can't wait to root for them and hope they raise a title - wouldn't be surprised if they're thrilled to be in Brooklyn as well.

Thanks Larbrd33, for overlooking the obvious Brooklyn / Jersey miscue on my part and just replying with your thought on it. Nicely done.  TP

You wanted folks to play along with a hypothetical certainly fictitious conversation ??? Where's Waldo?..I mean Doc. K.G. was obviously planning on heading out West in that mess. Paul getting that heart to heart is believable but K.G. came as a hired gun in the original version of the "Big 3" that inspired Miami and everyone else. K.G. is my favorite player ever but he got paid very well and was given one of the few no trade clauses in the league. Danny most certainly would not have had to absorb an equal amount of salary as he sent out were it not for his hands being tied by that and having to send them together.

We took G Wallace back which is among the leagues worst deals. We cannot get serious breathing room under the cap because we had to take what we could. Most outside observers know we got as lightly shafted as we could but that's it. Sent to HOF'S together with a chance at contending. Can you do them a better solid? The Celtics were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Paul's PTE or  K.G. being traded at the deadline to teams really needing them right then woulda netted much better deals or financial relief. But K.G. had the N.T clause and Doc's  near 3 week Circus stole precious time and made the Celts look like a mess. That's why Doc sits in my sig forever.

Your fantasy script just reminds me how bad we have been reamed.

Thanks 4 that.

We traded Rondo for D-Will?

Williams has been the most overrated player in the NBA for a few years now.
