It sure does. And yet, it had to be done.

It's a great gesture and a fitting ad.  Glad to be a fan of a classy organization that tends to its roots.

The trade had to be done.  Moving on.  I'll see you all at Pierce's and KG's jersey # retirement night at the Garden.

It was an absolute joy being able to watch Pierce in Celtic green.  First ballot HOFer.  I remember watching him his first year with my father, while I was still in HS and living at home.  I specifically recall my father saying "this kid is gonna be special, he's the guy that will lead the C's back to greatness", I scoffed.

My father was right.  Should have known a man who had watched the C's since the days of Russell knew what was up.

To also be able to watch KG, a player who was easily my 2nd fav player in the league (even before his Boston days), behind only Pierce, was priceless.  I'll never forget the day it was announced KG was coming to Boston, I knew from that minute we had a title coming our way.  We were back.

I'll miss that.

You know, if Pitino only did one thing right his entire time in Boston, at least the one thing he did get right was Paul Pierce.

nice move by the celtics. they showed grace and class during a time when they are doing something difficult and awkward for everyone involved.

compared with how the red sox handled the departure of tito and others, i am very pleased with the celtics organization.

i am absolutely positive they will bring pierce back for a day so he can retire a celtic. i hope they do the same with KG.

i am sure the crowd will go nuts when brooklyn visits boston this season.
