The roster is

Rondo
Pressey
Bogans
Bradley
Crawford
Lee
Brooks
Green
Wallace
Bass
Humphries
Sullinger
Melo
Iverson
Olynyk
Joseph
Randolph
White

That's 18 players. The only deadline before the start of camp is August 1st for the non-guaranteed contracts of Kris Joseph, Shav Randolph and DJ White. If they are on the roster after August 1st, that's $3 million the Celtics owe out.

So my guess is they will be gone in either a trade with someone else or they will be cut before then. Other than that, the Celtics might be done dealing for the year unless Danny can move a player and a pick or picks to unload some of the long term salary for expiring contracts or cap space.

Yikes, seeing that list all together...what a mish-mash.

By my reckoning we have one guy on the roster who is indisputably an above-average NBA starter, and he is currently rehabbing a torn ACL.

Yeah wow that's wild. I'd make a depth chart but would be afraid of my head exploding.

:o that roster is over stacked, I wonder if we can trade Lee and Bass, for a Center...i don't trust any of the centers we have..why do i feel like hum and Bass are like the same player...who rebounds better..? i am guessing hum.

DJ White will be gone, that's one less player that I don't think we'll miss.  Shav might be on the way out, too, although I'd be OK with him sticking around the end of the bench.  If you believe Iverson can contribute off the bench (as I do), then White, in particular, doesn't really have a spot on the roster.

Logjam at the 2 spot, with Bradley/Lee and Brooks/Crawford.  I don't see any real point in having both Brooks and Crawford around, and I'd rather see the SG minutes go to Bradley and Lee regardless.  I'd be disappointed but not surprised to see Lee be traded, since he's the most expensive and probably the most valuable (other than AB) to most contending teams.  But, I'd love to see him stick in Boston and get a more-consistent spot in the rotation; I believe he helps in a lot of ways, and doesn't hurt us in too many.  I really hope they don't trade him just to trade him.  Crawford, though...  we've seen what he can do, and it's not much.  If you can get a 2nd rounder for him, that works for me.

Mr. Kardashian I expect to be traded, but not until the deadline and then probably with Danny shoehorning into another deal to make the numbers work and pick up a draft pick or something.  We can use him for now anyway as an undersized 5 (who else do we have who's better?).

Gerald Wallace, I think sticks around and plays a fair amount of minutes at the 4 as well as backing up Jeff Green at the 3.  I'm OK with that; let him play and build some trade value, and in the meantime I think he's going to be better than expected.

But, I don't think we'll see any *major* changes.  Would love to see REAL starting-caliber 5 on the roster, but I doubt they make any kind of move big enough to acquire one.

EDIT: Bass, I think he'll be traded, although no idea for what.  Like Lee, he's got value to a contender to flesh out their bench, and he's too old and expensive for a rebuild.  And, I don't see them playing him over Sully/KO/Wallace at the PF, and he's REALLY undersized to play the 5.  We need a better rebounder - someone who can grab the ball and let Rondo/AB/Lee/Green/Wallace, someone who can get the ball to those guys and let them run.

This roster is overly stacked with PFs, some aging some young. The players i assume we move are Bass, Humphries, Wallace and Crawford or Lee. Personally i say we keep Lee because of his D. My question is, who can we get back? Will DA go for expiring contracts, pieces for the future, some how land a veteran all-star/superstar?

I like lee too, i think he helps a lot on defense and ball handling when we do not have Rondo, I agree with most of what you said, Crawford is gone, DJ white ::) ::) shav, we actually have to much talent to keep any of those guys...

I don't know about today, but before the season begins I expect either or both of Lee and Bass to be playing on another team.  Probably sent away for little more than second round picks and perhaps an expiring or two.

I would be on board with this. You can't expect to get 1sts for those two. Crash on the other hand I think the C's should hold. If he has a good season he can fetch a 1st. I don't think he makes a deal today. Next week is a different story.

I'm praying he already has deals lined up to move a few of these guys out.

There are a few summer league guys I like that aren't with teams yet like Peterson on Detroit's team.  Tall rangy guard/sf that looks like he can really shoot.  If we are rebuilding, lets go young.

I'd def keep these 7. wonder if we can trade the rest for depth at the SF and C positions.

My best guess is that Bogans and Joseph are gone. This will put the roster at 15, and get rid of some redundant perimeter players.

Is there any word on what Bogan's contract looks like?  I'm assuming it's one of those three-year, but-but-only-one-year-guaranteed deals, since it was a S&T.

If it's decent-sized, wonder if he sticks around to be used as an expiring contract for mid-season trades.

That's my guess too. I don't think we can keep him, not enough roster spots -- and I have doubts that any other trades will happen prior to the season's start.

Therefore, the two most expendable players (Bogans and Joseph) that are on nonguaranteed deals will likely be waived.

Keith Bogans is expected to earn more than $5 million via sign-and-trade as part of the deal sending Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Nets.

Not offical but that was the rumors from before

I don't think we'll waive bogans, salary ballast of MLE size probably will be considered potentially useful.

I'm hoping Danny can find a home for Humphries and Bass.  A trade exception for Humphries would be nice, but I don't know that there are any teams left who could and would deliver that for him.  I fear Lee might go if there's a market for him, though I'd rather keep him.
