I remember (a bit fuzzy) one game against Philly back in 2000 or 2001, maybe 02, I was between the ages of 16-18, I really can't remember off the top of my head, but he was basically going bucket for bucket with Aaron McKie at one point in that game and I think it went into OT or 2OT. Seems so long ago, but for some reason that game always stood out in my mind. Also the game versus LAL where he earned his nickname.
It will be extremely odd seeing him in another uniform next season and I'm sure he will feel it too for a bit, but he will be back. If it's a season, 1/2 season, 10 day or 1 day type of thing, he will be back and finish a Celtic. I think he understands ownership's/management's reason for shipping him out. The team wants to get back to the top as quickly as possible and realistically he couldn't carry us for a whole season and an entire playoffs anymore, and they wanted to help him out by giving him a few more opportunities to win before he hangs it up. We aren't in a true position to be considered a serious NBA title contender for at least the next 2-3 years IMO and he didn't want to go back into a rebuilding phase. I definitely don't think there were or will be any hard feelings between PP and the organization.
See you again soon, Captain.
