  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Does this put the Rondo for Drummond/Monroe rumors to rest? Sucks for everybody [not me] that is looking to trade Rondo...I am psyched.

Fitting that Billups will probably end his career there.

Waste of a roster spot. Will hurt Detroit more than he helps them.

Not really. Billups is probably a backup at this stage of his career anyhow -- plus he showed some ability to play off the ball with the Clippers.

I kind of want Ainge to trade Rondo so people who want to trade Rondo can't suggest to trade him any more.

Old broken down player. Not even an adequate backup anymore.

Small dollars and backup role.  I'm not hopeful about a Rondo-Detroit deal, but this shouldn't impede one.

he was ok in the spot up shooter role for the Clippers last year (until he got hurt of course).  That is why I said it depends on what role they signed him for and how much of a financial commitment it is.

Doesn't make them any better in my opinion. If anything, at this stage in their careers I say Jose Calderon did more for them the second half of the year last year than Chauncey will this year. Pistons basically got fans back with this move.

I'll take Pre-Retirement Victory Lap for $1,000, Alex.

Coaching role/front office prep for Billups. Hoping he can help mentor Knight. He'll have fun on the bench with Sheed.

A little surprised he didn't take a min deal to make one last run with KG in Brooklyn. I think it indicates that he understands he's cooked at this point.
