RLANDO -- Brandon Bass dropped into the Orlando Summer League on Wednesday to catch up with members of the Celtics organization and pledged to be blissfully unaware of -- or at least unmoved by -- all the changes that have occurred since the team's season ended in early May.

Doc Rivers' departure? "I don't even watch that stuff. … I wasn't following it. … That's strange, but he's [in Los Angeles]. I don't really have an opinion about that," Bass offered.

Brandon Bass played some of his best basketball in the playoffs, particularly his defense on Carmelo Anthony.
An overhauled roster? "I don't have no impressions, I don't have no feelings. … I don't really get too caught up into what happens, as far as the business side of it. It's out of my control," he answered.

His role next season? "I haven't really thought about my role. I just think that I'm going to come in being the best Brandon Bass I can be, and that's all I can take care of," Bass said.

All this talk of rebuilding and tanking? "I don't really try to be too smart of a guy, as far as thinking about basketball and being an analyst. I just take care of myself," he said.

Does he pay attention to anything. Perfect guy to trade. Would u deal him for a second rounder.

It's sounds like a Forrest Gump saying. "And that's all I have to say about that" Stupid  is a stupid does" Coaches are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get.

Bass is a player he just plays.  He also is smart enought not to talk about this stuff.   I really don't think Danny calls Brandon before every move to get his signoff....

I think most folks not a blood relative of Doc's *waves at Jeremiah* or a part of the Clips thinks it's all pretty strange...to be kind.

9 years of Family and Ubuntu (that word makes me puke in my mouth btw) and it's all flushed in a spectacular event. What are you gonna say?

Besides contacting the Clips and their underlings in May right after/before/during the playoffs (unless you think the SAS story was imagined, formed and leaked in 3 days?) he apparently wasn't contacting his starters besides K.G and Paul. He sure wasn't talking to or reading the mail from Danny or Wyc.

Nothing personal Brandon. Celtic nation got the back of the hand too.

Ha ha.

I guess if Bass had had something nice to say, he would have said it.  He also seems never to have been part of the C's inner cliques--whether with KG and the gang the year before last, or the younger pups last year.

some players , or a lot just insulate themselves from the public media completely,. You don't have deal with what people are saying about you one way or the other. DH probably could take a lesion from this as he worries about being popular and media hype. ...instead of just playing the game.

Bass is from the school , the less you say , the better off you are., stay out trouble with coaches, teammates, family , schools exc.

He is just laying low opinion wise and this is the best route.

You think that's news to anybody but diehard Clippers and Celtics fans and the most hardcore basketball fans who follow every transaction?

Do you know who the new Colorado Rockies manager was this year?  Coaching changes just aren't news to 99.9% of people, even more so if you don't live in the area.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

The thread title seems misleading. I think it's pretty clear that he knew Doc was gone, but decided not to buy into all of the hype.

Smart move by Bass not to talk about all the drama. Usually when you say something negative, you usually end up regretting at some point in the future...he is basically saying, 'no soundbites here - I am just going to go out and play.'

If we are to believe Brad Stevens, then Bass knew, since Stevens said he talked to every player on the team already.

of course he knew, the guy just doesn't want to say anything about it. I wouldn't be surprised if he's happy that Doc is gone. He lost his starting job to a rookie last year.
